Sights of Khimki: description, addresses and photos

Khimki is a city that has a rich history. It begins with the construction of a railway station in 1850. Near her became gradually upset the village. Khimki Art Gallery is located on Moscow street in house number 15. It opened 25 years ago, in 1991. Now in the gallery there are more than 200 exhibits. These works are of great value and are unique in their kind. The style of the structure refers to the buildings of the Russian North of the XVIII-XIX centuries. Cyril and Methodius are equals-apostles brothers who were patrons of spiritual enlightenment. This name of the church was chosen quite consciously, since next to it there are the State Library and the University of Arts and Culture. Nowadays, regular services are held here.

Attractions of Khimki will amaze even the most demanding tourist. For those who are interested in history, it is worth to visit the Bratsevo district. It arose in the XIV century. Currently it belongs to historical monuments.

The Bratsevo estate belonged to the descendants of Rodion Nestorovich. It was this boyar who saved the life of Ivan Kalita. A little later the Fominy family resided in the estate. Until 1572 the building housed the Trinity-Sergius Monastery, after which it was bought by B. Godunov's relatives. In 1618 the estate passes to deacon A. Ivanov. After 10 years, its owner is the armourer of Tsar Alexis. At the end of the 17th century Count A. Stroganov lived in the manor.
