Seedlings of sweet pepper: features of landing

Pepper sweet is popular among gardeners and truck farmers of our country. Its cultivation requires special preparation, in particular, the timely planting of seedlings in the open ground. Seedlings of sweet pepper should be planted in late February - early March. It is prepared one of the first, because its growth is quite long (from seven to thirty days). It is important not to miss the date of planting, because otherwise the pepper will not bloom at all and, accordingly, will not yield a crop.

Preparation for this process is quite simple: first you need to choose a container for planting (for example, seedling boxes) and soil mixture. A little trick: the sweet pepper seedling is grown from seeds that are sown in the soil treated with boiling water. It is necessary to pour the soil with boiling water, so wrap the box so that everything is steamed. This is done in order to carry out the destruction of larvae and weeds, as well as disinfect the soil. Moreover, such a procedure should be done not only with pepper seedlings, but also when planting other crops. A few days later, the box should be opened, then treated with a solution of potassium permanganate. When the top layer is dry, it is necessary to align it and make grooves with depth a little less than a centimeter. The distance between the grooves is about 2.5 cm. It is after this that the sowing of sweet pepper for seedlings begins. But this happens after a certain preparation of the seeds.

Prepare the seeds simply: they need to be soaked for 15-20 minutes in brine, and then lowered into a solution with a biostimulator. If after some time the seeds remained on the surface, but did not go to the bottom, like the rest, they need to be removed, because they are substandard. Although sometimes firms harvesting seeds carry out specialized drying, in this case the seeds all become light and float at the top. But this is rare, therefore, in order to rule out marriage in seeds, it is better to remove those that do not sink to the bottom.

After this, the seeds need to be laid out and covered with earth without compacting. When you pour it, the soil will be pounded. And if it gets a little sunlight, the earth will become even firmer. In order that the sprouts of sweet pepper does not dry up, the container with seeding is covered with glass or polyethylene, only then it is placed in a warm place. It should be remembered that the temperature in this room should not be less than twenty degrees. Otherwise, you just can not wait for the shoots. The most favorable temperature for seedlings is 25 degrees. And every three days you need to open the boxes for a while, and when the shoots begin to rise above the ground, the boxes should be placed in a place with good access to the sun's rays. At this time, it is desirable to lower the temperature a little. The most favorable option in this case is the window sill.

Timely watering - this is the basic care that the sweet pepper seedling needs. And, when the seedlings reach the age of two weeks, you can use as a top dressing solution of complex fertilizer. The appearance of several real leaves is a signal that seedlings need to be decapitated. Each pepper should be planted in an individual box, removing the tip of the stem root for branching the root system. After this, you need to wait another 20 days and repeat the same as the previous top dressing.

Transplantation of sweet peppers occurs around the end of May or early June. The transplant can be performed either in the greenhouse area or in the open ground. In order to correctly determine the degree of preparedness of seedlings for transplanting into the soil, it is necessary to count leaves on peppers. The optimum number of real leaves is 16-18 pieces. Also it is necessary to take into account the age of seedlings: the cultivation of sweet pepper seedlings should last at least two months.
