SCS carbine: history, features and reviews

The SCS carbine was tested on the battlefields of the Second World War and was adopted in 1949. On reliability, he is comparable to AK, but loses to him in terms of combat effectiveness. At first the SCS carbine was released with a needle, and then with a swinging knife-like bayonet. In the process of operation and production, some design features have been refined.

After the withdrawal from the arsenal, the carbine was left in some troops as a service weapon, where he had long served. For a very long time the SCS carbine will remain the ceremonial weapon of the post number 1 near the Eternal Flame near the Kremlin wall in the guard guard units.

Now the main part of SCS is in military warehouses. Some of them after special training at the arms factory are sold with an addition to the abbreviation "OP". The plant "Molot" is engaged in the production of OP-SCS.

In SCS, the barrel is locked by moving the bolt to the vertical position. Trigger trigger weapon, allowing shooting only single shots. The flag guard is on the trigger and seals the trigger.

The carabiner store is integral. Capacity - 10 rounds. To quickly fill the store used clips. Under the trunk is a ramrod fixed with a bayonet tube. In the butt is a box with inventory for cleaning weapons. The trunk is made from bakelite plywood or birch. Partial dismantling of SCS can be done without tools. The carbine has a remarkable balance and allows you to quickly aim, which is important for shooting "offhand".

Most of the carbines that arrive at the plant for training have not been used in the troops. There they are shot to identify unsuitable specimens for accuracy and check the efficiency of various components and mechanisms. Wooden components are newly varnished with a pre-removal of the old coating. The metal parts are covered with a lacquer-phosphate protective coating.

The optics can be installed on the SCS carbine. Usually this is a four-time sight of domestic manufacture. In the factory, SCS leads to an optimal battle for a hundred-meter distance, and also complete with tool accessories, a regular belt and a ramrod. The bayonet has no OP-SCS.

Some hunters talk about the weak efficiency of the 7.62x39 ammunition, which shoots the SCS carbine. The responses, however, are controversial. Some users, on the contrary, emphasize the success of this cartridge. Many arrows would prefer a heavier munition. How many people, so many opinions.

Hunting carbine SCS has proved itself well during hunting for relatively small ungulates, shooting wolves and any animals up to 100 kg. When equipped with optics, it can be used at distances up to 300 m. The carbine, despite the complexity of its production and far from being a primitive design, is quite simple to operate. There is a fine shooting weapon, which the careless owners do not clean for years.
