Sanpras: instructions for use, indications and contraindications

In diseases of the digestive system, such as, for example, a stomach ulcer or gastritis, it is often recommended drugs that reduce the level of acid in the stomach. One of such preparations is "Sanpraz", the instruction on which application will be considered in this article.

Composition and principle of action

The tablets "Sunpras" are coated with a shell that dissolves easily in the intestine. The main component of the drug is sodium pantoprazole sesquihydrate. Also in the composition of "Sunprase" is a number of auxiliary substances: magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, triethyl citrate, yellow iron oxide, purified talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, calcium stearate, copovidone, isopropyl alcohol, purified water, polymethacrylate type C, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol 6000 .
According to the principle of "Sanpras", the instruction refers the drug to inhibitors - substances that slow down the course of chemical reactions. Under the influence of its components, the final stage of hydrochloric acid production is blocked, the level of hydrochloric acid release contained in the stomach decreases. With ulcer of the duodenum, which is associated with the microorganism Helicobacter pylori, the components of the drug lower the sensitivity of the bacterium to antibiotics.

Indication and method of application

"Sanpraz" instruction recommends the use of such diseases of the gastrointestinal tract as an acute ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, as well as erosive gastritis (including those associated with Helicobacter pylori), erosive and ulcerative lesions of the stomach. Also, the drug is recommended for reflux esophagitis.

For the preparation "Sanpraz" instructions for use determine the following order of dosage. Tablets should be taken orally, with water or other liquid. To soften or grind them is not required. Tablets should be taken one hour before breakfast, and in the case of a double intake - and one hour before dinner. The daily dose, depending on the nature of the disease, can vary from 20 to 80 mg per day. So, for example, for the prevention of ulcers and reflux esophagitis, the daily dose of the drug is 20 mg. In the treatment of diseases, the dosage begins with 40 mg per day (with the exception of reflux esophagitis, where in some cases 20 mg is sufficient). Contraindications and side effects

As for contraindications when taking the drug "Sanpraz", the instruction for use prohibits its use for dyspepsia of neurotic genesis, malignant diseases of the digestive system, in case of hypersensitivity to pantoprazole. Also, "Sunpraz" is forbidden to give to children. With caution should take the drug in the presence of liver failure.

When taking the drug, there may be a number of side effects. The central nervous system can react with the onset of headache, less often with depression, weakness, headache, and visual impairment.
