Rolan Bykov - filmography, biography and family director

About Rolan Bykov you can speak endlessly and at the same time not say anything. This little man with good sad eyes created Russian cinema. Enormous energy, endless kindness, as they now say "charisma," beat it with a fountain and attracted people of all ages. Rolan Bykov, or rather Roland, was born in Kiev in the distant heavy year of 1929. Roland absorbed the natural softness and artistry with his mother's milk, because she was an intelligent woman who knew art very well and wrote poetry, but he inherited explosive energy from his father, a former deserter, and then a commissar who served under Budyon's own initiative.

First steps

School years and art circle revealed in Roland his creative string, even his classmates gave him the nickname "Artist". He constantly arranged for a mini-show in the schoolyard and mixed not only friends but also strict teachers. Whom he will become, it was clear from the very childhood, but the teachers of the Moscow Art Theater and GITIS considered differently and rejected Rolan for his unpresentable appearance. The problem of appearance all his life so worried Bykov, that already in his declining years he somehow in one interview said that he was the first person with such appearance who achieved success in the cinema.

"Pike" was more perspicacious and gladly accepted him into his arms, rightly deciding that such a characteristic actor would need a Russian Youth Theater. When Shchukin's school was behind him, Roland realized that he had to earn money somehow, because the actor's rate at the time was only 33 rubles, and it was simply impossible to live on that money. Rolan Bykov took a very risky step, deciding to open an amateur theater. The case was, of course, amenable, but the risk, as they say, is a noble cause, and Bykov, hoping for the inconsistency of the Soviet bureaucratic machine, invited Yablochkin himself to the opening of the theater. Everything went perfectly, and the circle earned in full force. The performance of the studio "Such Love" became his business card and finally legalized the existence of an amateur theater.

"Overcoat"

In parallel, Bulls created unforgettable images on the stage of the Young Spectator Theater. Not only children went to plays with his participation. The theater of the young spectator became a home for a young graduate for the next 7 years. And then came the turning-point in 1959, when Rolan Bykov was invited to screen the story of Gogol's "Overcoat" for the role of Bashmachkin.

The film caused mixed reactions among critics, as the picture turned out to be unnecessarily naturalistic, but Roland himself was greeted with a bang.

Cinema

After this role, he became aware and in demand. Bykov worked for some time as a director in Lenkom and in 1960 moved to Mosfilm, where he tried himself as a film director. His first film, where he appeared as a director - "Seven Nannies". Rolan Bykov filmed after many interesting films, but the first experience showed how deeply he understands child psychology.

Mystic

One of the strange hobby of the actor since childhood was divination, he had some strange gift in the form of a man to talk about his past. At one time, when the family was starving, this earnings was the main part of the family budget. It all ended very badly - a small Roland had to be treated for psychological fatigue. Interest in mysticism, he carried through his whole life and always consulted with one gypsy - Lyalya. He re-read almost all the literature on psychology and even he himself brought out a very interesting theory of the "phenomenology of childhood". She helped him to better understand children's problems and create their masterpieces for them.
Rolan Bykov somehow subconsciously understood how to talk with a young spectator, how to make him laugh at adult jokes. The most important of his secrets were kindness and childlike perception of the world around him.

Small actors simply adored him and therefore each role became for them a real revelation. In all of his films, Rolan Bulls shot himself, and this gave each picture unforgettable moments of cheerfulness and carelessness.

In parallel, he acted in films with other directors, in such cultic tapes as "Andrei Rublev" or "Two Companions Served." Each such role filled the film with a secret, only Bykov, subordinate sense, because we can not imagine these pictures without him. Sometimes he lingered in the frame no more than a minute, as, for example, in "I walk around Moscow", but each such appearance caused laughter and was remembered forever, one spoken word was picked up by grateful spectators and passed from mouth to mouth. This is the true national recognition. But Rolan Bykov, whose films were watched and quoted by the whole country, believed that everything is still ahead, and the main role has not yet been played for them.

Episode Master

All the "adult" roles in the movies were obtained from Bykov, despite the whole fun of some images, very tragic, as if talent is not allowed to unfold until the end, as if it is being cut off at the most interesting place. Without pathos and bombast, the actor does not play, but lives the screen life of his character. On the one hand, he is a filigree master of the episode - he knows exactly how to forever be imprinted in the minds of one phrase or grimace. Let's recollect at least the role of the sheriff in "The Prince and the Pauper", through his teeth the spoken phrase became the calling card of the whole picture. Filmography Rolan Bykov is full of such memorable episodes. On the other hand, comic clowning, exaggerated images that make one laugh at thoughtlessly at one mention.

The role of Father Fyodor, who "does not profit for sake, but the Tokma for the sake of the wife who sent me" appears at the dacha of engineer Bruns, was the very highlight without which it is impossible to imagine this adaptation of Ilf and Petrov.

"Kreks-fex-pecs"

His cat, Bazilo with broken glasses, muttering "Kreks-feks-pex", made him laugh with adults and children. A true virtuoso, he can keep the audience in suspense, amuse or make you think, but always in his images slips the little sadness of the great master who believes he is capable of more.

Strangely enough, in the beginning Bulls did not even want to act in the "Adventures of Pinocchio," especially with his wife Elena Sanayeva, but she was able to convince him that such roles fall once in a lifetime. So it turned out, Sanayeva became famous, and Bykov for all time became the best screen fairy-tale character. Filmography Rolan Bykov would be incomplete without the "Adventures of Pinocchio."

"Aibolit 66"

I must say that the actor's talent was completely revealed in the children's cinema. The phenomenon of Russian children's cinema is known all over the world, because it is the quintessence of good and love. These films are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always interesting, and they want to be reviewed countless times. How many generations grew up on them and now shows this amazing world to their children. Rolan Bykov's films are simple in content, conceal in themselves the secret of love for children, an understanding of their problems and a child's view of life. This big child really could win the hearts of all the children of that time.

The film "Aibolit 66" for some reason was not often shown on Soviet television. Whether considered incredibly innovative, after all, Bulls appears there, except grotesque Barmalea, in the role of the author with a strange makeup on his face (Piero-Petrushka); Or too much theatrical aesthetics was seen in the production. In general, not all "upstairs" the film came to taste. But when he walked, the whole country "stuck" to the TV screens. The most comical was in the translation of the title, when the film was shown abroad, "Oh How It Hurts - 66" sounded anecdotal. The film turned out more like an adult, so many aspects of human nature were exposed.

Cat Basilio and the fox Alice

The personal life of Rolan Bykov was very successful at first, his marriage with Lidia Knyazeva was happy, but unfortunately, childless, and the couple adopted the boy Oleg. They lived together for 15 years. Lyudmila Sanayeva and Rolan Bykov met on the set of the failed film "Docker". Bykov at first terribly resisted the inclusion of the daughter of Sanayev himself in the cast, well, he did not like all this continuity on the screen, but at a glance the beauty was wide enough to make him realize that he was missing. Later he said that he was grateful to fate for this meeting, because this was the only role that he was ashamed of - the film was so unsuccessful.

A crisis

Since then, they have not parted. Rolan Bykov's wife survived with him a heavy, black streak of excommunication from the cinema, when Rolan was cut several scenarios and did not allow to shoot what he likes. She stubbornly endured his drinking bouts and did everything to get her husband out of a severe depression.

And I was able to save my beloved. Rolan Bykov seemed to wake up from sleep and realized that life is beautiful, next to a loving, understanding person who will understand everything, forgive and help at a difficult moment.

"Scarecrow"

His winged phrase described the state of the actor as best as possible: "I'm beaten, I'll start again!" Under this name, Bykov's diaries were later published, describing the most difficult years of creative stagnation. As if awakening from sleep, he was shooting the cult drama "Scarecrow", which can not be characterized unambiguously. The brutal, ethical and ethical problem of relations in society has outgrown its time, and until now the film is relevant as a reflection of human weaknesses. At the meeting of the City Party Committee, the film was immediately declared harmful and irrelevant, since there could be no such cruel problems in the Soviet school, but it nevertheless found the way to the audience. Andropov himself gave permission to rent this film. The success was truly deafening, the film collected for a long time whole cinemas.

From the first marriage, Lyudmila Sanayeva had Pavel's son, who was later adopted by Rolan Bykov. He is a well-known writer (many know his cult story "Bury me under the baseboard") tries himself in directing. The children of Rolan Bykov were not his blood relatives, but inherited from him all the best.

The untimely death

The actor was full of creative plans, when a serious illness knocked him down. Rolan Bykov, whose biography was full of ups and downs, lay down overnight. He was diagnosed with a terrible lung cancer. Bykov steadfastly fought for his life, he went to an operation that gave him extra two years of life. Until the last minute he worked on the film "Portrait of an Unknown Soldier," however, on October 6, 1998 the heart of this cheerful man with good, sad eyes stopped forever. Filmography Rolan Bykov is rich in epochal roles, forever remaining in the memory of grateful spectators. A great man, a talented director Rolan Bykov, left the life. His biography could be replenished with many interesting works and facts, but the disease did not leave him a chance.
