On November 23, 1978, Alison Mosschart was born - a future rock star, an American singer, songwriter, singer, most celebrated as the singer of the indie rock band The Kills and the blues rock band The Dead Weather.

General information

Alison embarked on her own musical career in 1995 with the Florida punk rock band Discount, which fell apart in 2000. After that year, she co-founded The Kills with British guitarist Jamie Hins. Mosschart has the stage name VV, and her partner is known as the Hotel.

In early 2009, the musician joined the band The Dead Weather, which Jack White created with Jack Lawrence and Dean Fertita. In this group, her stage name was Baby Ruthless, which translates as "ruthless baby". It should be noted that this name was quite suitable for the scenic image of Alison.

The Kills

The acquaintance of Mosschart and Hins took place during the European tour of the band Discount, which at that time involved Alison. After dating, the girl began to write lyrics with Jamie, and later returned to Florida. Jamie left for London, but they continued to correspond. After the disintegration of the Discount group, the Mosshart cases became useless. She fell ill, money ran out, there was no work as such. In 2003, The Kills published their own original album Keep on Your Mean Side. After only two years they prepared their next album No Wow. In 2008, Midnight Boom and the singles URA Fever, Cheap and Cheerful and Sour Cherry were released, which received much more praise than the previous singles The Kills.

On January 11, 2011, Mosschart and Hins announced the name of the new album Blood Pressures. It was published on April 5 in the United States. This album is considered the most commercially successful.

The Dead Weather

Mosshart is one of the original members of the blues rock band The Dead Weather, formed in late 2008. She previously worked with Jack White and Jack Lawrence before the formation of this group. In The Dead Weather, Alison sings and plays rhythm guitar.

She is also the co-author (with Dean Fertita) of the first single from the band Hang You from the Heavens, which was created on March 11, 2009. Mosshart also wrote So Far From Your Weapon and co-wrote eight of the ten original tracks from their debut album, Horehound.

In 2010, the next collection of Sea of Cowards was released. The song Die By The Drop was written by Fertita, Lawrence and Alison Mosschart.

Mosshart is engaged, among other things, fine art, painting paintings with paint. In 2014, she made her debut in this field, putting her compositions on ArtNowNY, in Push It.
