Rap groups and style features

Most often, the popularity of individual performers of rap. In the history of domestic and foreign hip-hop there are quite a few groups that have managed to become popular and recognizable. Rap-groups in the Russian show business occupy a special position. Often the performers first appear in the team, and later create their own solo projects.

"Bachelor Party"

The first and therefore the most cult rap group in Russia was the trio "Bachelor Party": Dolphin, Dan and Mutabor. Young people read the texts that for a long time was a taboo subject. The main theme of their texts was sex. They became known throughout the country in just a few weeks. Their texts were read almost in every yard, on the tour "Bachelor Party" collected whole stadiums. On radio and television, most of the texts were not overlooked by censorship, which only fueled interest in the collective. Few rap groups of the 90s can boast of such success.

At the same time, the collective did not last long. First Dan quarreled with the producer, then a new member of the collective Deer (Oleg Bashkatov) died of a heroin overdose, and later his solo project was started by Dolphin.

Until the breakup, the trio managed to take part in the election campaign of Boris Yeltsin (it was they who wrote the song "Vote or lose"). From the remixes to the tracks of the first album of the group "Bachelor Party" began his creative career in 1995 by the DJ Groove.

Groups of the nineties

After the appearance of "The Bachelor Party" on stage with its tough lyrics in the domestic show business, new individual performers and rap groups began to appear. In 1991, for the first time in Russia, the festival "RapPik" was held, which was able to light a lot of stars. His headliners were Bogdan Titomir and "Bachelor Party".

In the second half of the nineties, new Russian rap groups began to appear. Bad Balance, "Mikhei and Dzhumandzhi" (despite the fact that this band released only one album, it is not forgotten to this day), "Casta", "Yu.G." and "Ligaliz" scored great popularity. At this point hip-hop has gained stunning popularity.

Many groups united under a common brand, while others disintegrated. Depending on the produced songs, a wave of popularity covered one or another group. We will tell you about the most famous and popular rap groups.

Bad Balance

The roots of this rap group go back to the eighties. However, the peak of popularity came when the "gold lineup" was assembled: bitmaker DJ LA, SheFF and Mikhei. At first the band worked with live, not electronic music, but in 1997 it was decided to turn to classical hip-hop. Later, Mikhei secretly starts his solo work, which is why he started a scandal with SheFFom. The musicians were finally reconciled only at the beginning of the two thousandths, but they did not have time to record a joint album in the old composition - Mikhey died of a stroke. By that time SheFF became a producer - he started promoting his own solo project, as well as Decl, "Alkofanka", "Legal Business" and "White Chocolate".

Vast connections and profits from other projects allowed the Bad Balance band to record the album "Stone Forest" in New York. At work there went: director Malaya, SheFF, bass guitarist Mr. Bruce, Legalize and beat DJ DJ. After this album, the band's members were distracted from creativity, as the conflict with the father of Decl, Alexander Tolmatsky, and with Ligalaze (he wanted to release his solo album) developed in the SheF.

Centr

The era of Bad Balance on the domestic scene at the beginning of the two thousandth was replaced by new names. The most popular were the rap groups "Casta", Krec, "Basta", "Dots" and Centr. The latter gained popularity thanks to the album "Swing". The group was founded by two Moscow rappers Guf and Princip. Later they were joined by Ptaha and Slim. Later, the Principle falls into prison, and the group has three MCs.

From 2006 to 2008, Ptaha, Slim and Guf recorded the group's most hit songs, including the saudtrack for the film "Heat". Then their creativity became interested in other rap artists, thanks to which they managed to create their own brand - CAO Records. In 2009, Guof left the team, and the return of the Principle again delayed the police. Guf and Slim quarreled among themselves, but in 2015 they began to communicate again. They participated in recording the album of the group "Caspian cargo". In 2016, the group finally ceased to exist.

We described a lot of bands that can and should be listened to by fans, but it will not be complete without a short list of the most popular bands of our time. Now the most popular bands are:

They have significantly outperformed all of their competitors. In terms of audience coverage, this project is reminiscent of the early "Bachelor Party", and from the point of view of texts this group attracts listeners with a wide variety of topics.
