It is not necessary to have any special tools for making a radiator grille . Everything can be done from improvised tools and devices. Immediately it is worth noting that the grille itself - a laborious job that requires attention, time and patience.

For work you will need:

- lacquer, primer and paint;

- Putty;

- any board or container, where you can mix the necessary ingredients;

- a piece of any cloth;

- file;

- sandpaper.

To begin with, it is necessary to cut all the edges in the regular radiator grille, but if you saw everything in a row, the already fragile structure may collapse completely, and it will be almost impossible to restore it. So that you do not have such a problem, after fixing each of the parts with a putty, strengthen your future grate.

The radiator grille with their own hands is a laborious job, and it should be handled responsibly, because with a small oversight, all the labors can go wrong. Next, align your structure with a putty. Install the radiator grille on a flat surface and, with a little effort, level the edges of the frame.

Then, in order to make your frame stronger and more durable, it is necessary to completely cover it with putty, after which you have to go through (sanding) your sandpaper with sandpaper. To damage the putty was more sparing, it is better to use water. However, in case of appearance of small damages or depressions on the plaster layer, it is possible to correct the situation by applying again a thin layer and again sanding the product.

At the next stage, when the part is ready for painting, it is necessary to thoroughly degrease the surface of the putty with any solution containing alcohol that you have. Here you can approach both acetone and ordinary cologne. Now you can apply the first coat of primer to your part. Apply it carefully so that no streaks develop, then leave it for about 6 hours before re-applying. After this, it is necessary to apply the primer again and leave the frame to dry for a day in a well-ventilated and heated room.

In a day, after the primer has completely dried, you can start painting. Apply a layer of black paint and leave the part for a day until it dries completely. Then again apply a layer of paint, but leave to dry for several hours, in order to fix the finish layer and leave one more day in a well-prepared (ventilated and warm) room your detail.

Now the product is almost ready, and you can proceed to applying a protective layer of varnish. After this, the grid should be left again for 24 hours. To complete your work, you will need another grid in the radiator grate, which can be extracted from the old used KamAZ filter, cutting it to the required size and degreasing. After preparing the mesh for painting, you can apply a layer of powder paint to it, so that it does not fly off over time. Leave to dry. And the next day you can apply the final layer of varnish. After the lacquer dries completely, fasten the mesh to the rear slats of your frame, and that's it! The radiator grille is made by oneself! Now you can install the part on the car.
