Pumpkin cake - long forgotten recipes

Aboriginal Russian vegetable for making porridge and pies is a pumpkin. No overseas miracle can replace it, because the pumpkin is a useful, tasty and inexpensive basis for preparing various dishes. And besides, the invaluable benefits that you bring to the body, eating dishes from a pumpkin, will undoubtedly add this vegetable to the list of favorite foods. The pumpkin food is rich in vitamins, as well as many useful micronutrients. One of the not so difficult to prepare, but still very tasty will be a pumpkin pie.

One of the simple recipes for making such a treat is a pie from a pumpkin, is an air pie. You will need 250 grams of pumpkin, two tablespoons of sugar, two egg whites, vanillin and powdered sugar to taste.

Pumpkin cut into small cubes and either bake, or cook on milk. Then cool the resulting mass, pass through the meat grinder, you can also wipe through the sieve. Then mix the resulting puree with sugar.

In a separate bowl, whip the squirrels and sugar powder to get a stable foam. Slowly mix foam with pumpkin puree. Form for baking should be smeared with butter, and sprinkle with breadcrumbs, then pour the pumpkin mass and sprinkle sugar on top. If desired, you can add cinnamon, zest or vanillin. Bake until cooked.

To prepare another pie from the pumpkin you need to stock up the following products: two eggs, one tablespoon of sugar, flour, cocoa and grated pumpkin, a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil, and half teaspoon of soda. Also, a little vinegar is needed in order to extinguish soda, zest and jam to taste.

Eggs mixed with sugar and beat into a thick foam. In the resulting mass, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well. For the baking dish, grease with butter and pour the mixture obtained into it. At a temperature of 180 degrees, bake the cake for about 20 minutes.

Ready pie must be cut into two pieces and greased with jam. Jam is best used thick, so as not to spread. If desired, you can decorate with whipped cream, fresh fruit or powdered sugar.

Another option is to make a pumpkin pie. For him you will need butter (50 grams), about 100 grams of sugar, a pinch of nutmeg, finely chopped pumpkin pulp (400 grams), two tablespoons of cinnamon, 250 grams of shortbread and one egg.

Add butter, nutmeg, sugar and cinnamon to the liquid in a saucepan. Add pumpkin and cook for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Then cool the mass.

Sand the dough into two pieces and thinly roll. Form the cake with oil and lay out one part of the dough. Then pour the pumpkin mass and cover with the second half of the dough. Peel the cake with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar. To leave the steam, it is necessary to pierce a few holes. Form with a feast put in the oven, preheated to about 200 degrees, and bake for about 30 minutes. You can serve with whipped cream.

But the pumpkin pie is not the only thing you can cook from this wonderful vegetable, you can also make pies, soups and, of course, porridges. As an option, you can consider the recipe for cooking stewed pumpkin with mushrooms. You will need half a kilogram of pumpkin, 300 grams of champignons, an onion, two carrots, 100 milliliters of broth, a little butter, seasoning to taste.

Pumpkin, cut into small pieces, put out in butter for about 10 minutes, then season with salt and pepper. Finely chopped mushrooms, onions and carrots fry and mix with pumpkin. Add broth and seasonings and braise on low heat for 15 minutes. The dish is ready.

Pumpkin can be eaten both sweet and salty. What concerns the main advantages of a pumpkin is the possibility of its long-term storage. Thus, your favorite pumpkin dishes can be cooked not only in the autumn (when the fruits are drowning), but also throughout the winter.
