Political conflict

Political conflict is a "war" for power. He always assumes a collision between several parties. In this case, the cause of confrontation is always power relations. In such a conflict, there is necessarily a real struggle, certain actions that rivals send against each other. However, this is not capture or destruction, because such funds are used only unilaterally. And this does not correspond to the political conflict.

You can try to explain this concept in plain language. Then a political conflict is a confrontation between some supporters of certain views with others for "a place under the sun". Where "the sun" is the authority that gives the right to dispose of resources , makes generally valid decisions, defends some own interests. Political conflict always has as its basis a certain object (status, state power and taking it into its own hands). The reasons for it can also be all sorts of values or symbols, the structure of institutions of power.

Kinds

Types of political conflicts are presented in three versions. The first is the touching of some interests. It is characteristic of economically developed, sustainable countries. The struggle can be fought for the size of taxes or the amount of social security, in other words, there is a "sharing" of profits in the economy. In such conflicts there are always several compromise solutions. This allows them to be easily regulated.

The second option is when the conflict is based on some moral value, whether it be freedom or equality. This political struggle is most often affected by unsustainable, yet developing states. The settlement of value conflicts is almost impossible.

Finally, another type is the conflict of identification or identification. It occurs when a person considers himself a subject in relation to a group, language, ethnic, religious, and not in relation to society or the state as a whole. Such conflicts are characteristic of multiracial, multilingual countries.

The participants

Depending on who is the participant, the political conflict happens:

  • Interstate;
  • Regional;
  • Local.

Inside the state system, there are also disagreements. Then allocate: conflicts positional or, as they also name, horizontal, participants of which there are the organizations standing at authority in the given system, but various on hierarchy of occupied posts. For example, some institutions of federal power.

The second kind of internal political conflicts is the opposition. Their participants are:

  • On the one hand - the elite of people, endowed with power;
  • On the other hand, the subordinate "not elite", which opposes the policy of people who have power.

Such political conflict is allowed by the change of political power.

Functions

Political conflicts have both negative and positive functions. Among the good, we can note, first of all, the opportunity to stabilize the situation and, at the same time, to make it clear to the authorities and society that there is such a problem that it is time to start doing something to solve it and take control of everything that is going on. Conflict is resolved sooner or later, and society is being renewed, values are revalued, and new structures are emerging. But the negative function can be called that the political struggle causes war, the death of people, the destruction of material values, the complication of international relations, violence and the establishment of a military dictatorship.

Political conflicts have been, are, and will be until a person exists. Of course, on the one hand, it is a struggle with the consequences that follow from it. But on the other hand, the conflict is a reluctance to live in the old way and striving for something new and better. So such disagreements are, in a sense, the engine of progress, and they need our society like water or air!
