Planting trees: stages of work

Competently and correctly conducted planting of trees is a guarantee that the garden will please not only its appearance, but also bring a good harvest. But inept actions will lead to severe consequences, since most of the trees are difficult enough to tolerate planting and transplantation. Therefore, it is very important to choose a suitable place for future plants.

In the process of determining the location where garden trees will be planted , the soil chemical composition, the biological nuances of species and varieties of trees, the relief, climatic conditions and the surrounding landscape need to be taken into account. For example, planting fruit plants is best carried out in loamy soils.

However, knowing the secrets of proper cultivation of the soil, planting trees can be carried out even on unfavorable soil. Usually this will require the right selection of mineral fertilizers, make timely fertilizing of trees, enrich the land with useful minerals and make a number of necessary drainage and meliorative measures.

The most favorable time, when planting trees will be successful, is the period of biological dormancy of plants, coming in early spring or late autumn.

Plant breeding works include the preparation of planting pits, which are done beforehand, if necessary, spring planting, although it is more correct to excavate pits in autumn. Planting places should have a rounded shape, and their size should correspond to the species and parameters of the planted tree. In the preparation of pits, the depth of the location of the groundwater, as well as the subsidence of the soil, should be taken into account.

For the planting of trees, seedlings of up to three years will be better. It is necessary to examine the root system of young plants well, remove rotted and damaged areas with a pruner or knife, and spread the healthy roots along the entire perimeter of the pit. Having lowered a tree in a hole, it must be gently pricked with earth, slightly shaking the plant. Thus, the soil will better fill the voids between the roots.

Then the ground around the trunk should be compacted, and along the pit circumference dig a hole. After the trees are planted, they need to be watered abundantly. To further care for them was easier, the soil around the plants should be mulched. In addition, this measure will protect the root system from drying out and better keep moisture in the soil.

However, the ornamentation of the site is not only fruit plants. Near the house, decorative coniferous and deciduous plantations will look great.

Planting of decorative trees in the suburban area has not prevented anyone. But it should be borne in mind that deciduous plants can grow over time and will shade the site, preventing other green organisms from developing. The undoubted advantage of deciduous specimens is their unpretentiousness to the conditions of growth and care, they quickly take root.

Coniferous trees lag behind in terms of growth, but they are in no way inferior to their deciduous brethren in decorativeness.
