Overview of the Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck

D-MAX is the latest generation of Isuzu vehicles, which has been assembled in Thailand since 2002. On the British market, cars are supplied as Isuzu Rodeo, on the Australian market - Holden Rodeo. The Japanese company invented and developed this pickup with the participation of the concern General Motors from the United States of America. The Isuzu D-MAX is built on the improved TF platform of pickups-predecessors.

Isuzu D-MAX has a good appearance. Modern streamlined forms, "two-story" headlights, wide wheels, powerful chrome-plated "kenguryatnik" and grille give this pickup aggressiveness. In general, the silhouette of Isuzu D-Max turned out to be interesting and modern.

Cabins - one and a half, single and double. Also there is a version with an all-metal side body.

Isuzu D-MAX perfectly keeps the straight, which is achieved primarily by an independent front suspension. The rear suspension is made according to the old Picasso system: a rigid bridge on the springs provides a reliable and durable construction.

In the cabin Isuzu D-MAX there is nothing superfluous, it is assembled quite reliably and qualitatively. A distinctive feature of this pickup is a one-piece three-seater sofa instead of front separate seats. In this case, the back of the sofa can only be thrown forward, and the angle of its inclination can not be adjusted. Despite this, you can choose the optimal and comfortable position of the back.

Unfortunately, the Isuzu D-MAX lacks electric windows, airbags, central locking, heated seats and a radio receiver. At the same time, all this you will not get even for an additional fee. However, the meager configuration almost did not affect the ergonomics of the workplace and the convenience of boarding passengers and the driver. Overview of the D-MAX is excellent, the steering wheel can be adjusted by the slope of the column.

The front panel of the pickup is laconic and simple: it only contains what you can not do without. The simplest unit that manages the climate, the vent button, the power supply deflectors are all made of light gray plastic with black inserts.

In normal operation, the D-MAX has a drive only to the rear axle. On the decayed primer or in snow, that is, in adverse road conditions, the front wheels are connected at the touch of a button. Since there is no inter-axle differential , the front axle is connected rigidly.

In order to go into all-wheel drive mode, there is no need to stop. It is necessary that the Isuzu D-MAX move rectilinearly and evenly, but at a speed of not more than one hundred kilometers per hour. The process of connecting the front axle lasts about five seconds, after which a special light on the dashboard will light up. But it is worth considering that for driving on a serious off-road it is necessary to stop the car in advance and turn on the lowered gear. Remember that on the move it can not be turned on!

On the road with the mounds, large potholes and pits Isuzu D-MAX 2012 will pass calmly, confidently, without jerking and jerking. Due to the high ground clearance you will feel like the king of impassability!

Since 2005, the all-wheel drive version of the pickup truck with a turbo diesel of 146 hp has been produced. There is also a cheaper version with a rear-wheel drive and a turbodiesel. A hard removable top for the body is supplied on request. Versions D-MAX with the petrol motor have been removed from manufacture in 2005.
