The first Latin American, nominated for an Oscar in the category "Best Director" - Alejandro Gonzalez Inyarritu - is now known not only as a director, but also as a screenwriter, producer, composer.

The beginning of the creative path

Alejandro Gonzalez was born into the family of the prosperous banker Hector Gonzalez and his wife, the beautiful Mary Inyarritu, in the last summer month of 1963. According to the director, despite his father's bankruptcy, his childhood was cloudless and happy, Hector was and was an example for Alejandro to follow. In his youth the future great director was passionately passionate about music and even tried himself as a DJ on the popular radio station WFM in Mexico.

In the late 80-ies the young man already wrote music for national TV and cinema ("Lapa Tiger"). In the same period, Alejandro Gonzalez began to study film production, his mentor was the Polish production director Ludwik Margulis, after the course, the future star of the world direction was trained in Los Angeles by Judith Weston.

The youngest director of the company

In the 1990s, 27-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu, the youngest producer of Televisa, becomes her main executive producer, and after a while she opens her personal film studio Zeta Films, which produces short films, TV programs and commercials. Most often the latter was directed by Inyarritu himself.

Without ceasing to cooperate with the film company Televisa, Alejandro withdraws his debut film "For the sake of money", the main role in which sang the Spanish singer and actor Miguel Bose. Further, in 2000, according to the scenario of Guillermo Arriaga, Alejandro Gonzalez shoots the movie "Bitch-love" in the title role with Garcia Bernal. This tragicomedy was showered with lots of prizes, nominations and prizes, and it also had unprecedented success at the box office, ten times surpassing the initial budget.

By the way, to love, as to the feeling, cinema has an indirect relationship. The fact is that the original title of the film in one of the interpretations sounds like "Love is a dog". Each of the three stories intersecting each other, novels in the plot narrative of the picture, tells about the role of dogs in the life of people.

Fame on the world level

Having received worldwide recognition and fame, director Alejandro Gonzalez receives an invitation to work on the international project "September 11". This burning almanac with him was created by such eminent filmmakers as Mira Nair, Amos Gitai, Claude Lelouch, Ken Loach, Shohei Imamura and Sean Penn.

Success Inarritu attracts the attention of Hollywood artisans. His next project, the drama "21 grams, Gonzalez shoots in the US, but again under the script of his compatriot, playwright Guillermo Arriaga. If the tragicomedy "Bitch Love" consisted of three separate novels that were interconnected by an associational principle, then in the movie "21 Grams" Alejandro Gonzalez, whose films have intricate designs, goes further in the search for a new narrative structure.

The presenter risked confusing the audience with flexible plot intricacies, looped composition. However, the drama received the highest ratings of the world's critics. The performers of the main roles - the Puerto Rican Benicio Del Toro and the beautiful blonde Naomi Watts - were nominated for an Oscar.

Nominated for seven Oscar awards

The plot line of the most ambitious project of the Latin American director "Babylon" is a skilfully knotted in the original author's manner of Inyarritu chronological knot. Alejandro Gonzalez, along with his companion-writer Guillermo Arryaga again create the film on the same principle - the overlapping stories (now there are four of them), the nonlinear time course. The drama is like a puff cake from the big plans multiplied by the non-linear structure of the narrative. Based on these characteristics, you can combine three works - "Bitch love", "21 grams" and "Babylon" - into a single formalistic trilogy, created according to one director's strategy.

The project involved world famous movie stars: Keith Blanchett, Brad Pitt, Adriana Barrasa, Gael Garcia Bernal, Koji Yakusho and Rinko Kikuchi. As a result, according to the Cannes Festival, in 2006 was named the best director Alejandro Gonzalez, "Oscar" also became a well-deserved award to the director.

"Beauty"

After parting with his formerly indispensable screenwriter-playwright Guillermo Arriaga, the Mexican director went to Barcelona, where he filmed the underside of the tourist Eden, who was so beautifully shown by Woody Allen in the film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona". According to the author's vision of Inyarritu, Barcelona from beautiful turns into beauty, the paradise turns into a real hell.

For all the intentionally realistic manner of the narrative, the movie represents a story from a position that extends into the world of another soul. The protagonist has cancer in an incurable stage. Uxbal learns about his diagnosis in the first minutes of the timing, and all the rest of the screen time - this is the way to a different world. "Survivor"
