Operation of prostate adenoma, diagnosis and treatment

Prostate adenoma is the formation of a benign node in the prostate gland. With this disease, almost every second man who has turned more than fifty years old is found.

Main clinical signs

Adenoma of the prostate is clinically manifested by impaired urination. The patient complains of frequent urge to urinate, the weakness of the flow of urine, the feeling of constant overflow of the bladder.

Diagnostics

To identify the disease, a number of studies are needed, among which:

  • The general analysis of a blood, urine, the biochemical analysis of a blood;
  • Definition of prostatic antigen;
  • X-ray and ultrasound examination of the urinary system;
  • Uroflowmetry;
  • Rectal finger examination;
  • If necessary biopsy of the prostate.

Treatment

Treatment can be medicated or surgical. Treatment of prostate adenoma without surgery is good at the initial stages of the disease. Apply medications to relax the muscles of the urinary system, thus facilitating the process of urination. Physiotherapeutic methods are also used, which remove inflammatory processes on the mucous membrane well. Sometimes patients undergo catheterization of the ureter.

With the development of the following stages of the disease, the operation of prostate adenoma is best. It consists in removing the benign node.

The operation to remove adenoma of the prostate includes three stages - preparation of the patient for surgical intervention, operation and rehabilitation. Preparation of the patient can last several days or several hours. Everything depends on the patient's condition and the severity of the disease. At this stage, various instrumental and laboratory studies are carried out.

The operation of prostate adenoma can be performed by the following methods:

1. Transurethral resection . This technique is that with the help of a special tool, part of the prostate tissue that blocks the excretion of urine is removed. This is a "bloodless" procedure. This operation is performed under general or regional (spinal) anesthesia. This technique is offered to those patients whose mass of adenomas is up to 60 grams.

2. Adenectomy - the operation of prostate adenoma - one of the most common surgical manipulations for this pathology. It is carried out in the case when the adenoma of the prostate has a weight of 40 grams.

3. Laser vaporization of the adenoma - is to remove the overgrown tissue by evaporation. It is performed by the endoscopic method. This procedure is performed without cuts, through the channel of urination. It involves minimal blood loss and rapid postoperative rehabilitation.

4. Laser removal of prostatic adenoma is better suited among other surgical techniques for patients with concomitant diseases of the cardiovascular system, decompensated diabetes mellitus.

Rehabilitation

The operation of prostate adenoma involves mandatory post-operative rehabilitation. Within two weeks the patient must adhere to certain recommendations of the doctor. They are as follows:

  • Restriction of physical activity;
  • Sufficient fluid intake;
  • Diet therapy;
  • Abstention from sexual activity for two months.
