Motor boat MKM: specifications, description, repair. Dural boats

Durale motor boat MKM, the technical characteristics of which were almost identical to the obsolete "Kazanka", was produced by the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant in 1968. Its main difference from the predecessor was the possibility of equipping a hinged power unit with a capacity of up to 25 horsepower. Nevertheless, the ship lost significantly in seaworthiness with such an engine, frequent nose strikes on water contributed to damping up the cockpit. Normally, the watercraft can only be operated in a calm pond not more than one kilometer away from the shore.

Body construction

Considered dural boats have a casing made of aluminum one millimeter thick. The construction of the element is made in the traditional style, by riveting. A flat bottom with an index of deadrise on a transom of two degrees does not particularly add to the swimming means of exchange rate stability. Bypass cheekbones are located quite low, which practically does not protect passengers from splashing. Some craftsmen independently installed additional bumpers of various modifications.

In the area of the stern the sides converge to the top. This feature, along with some other structural nuances of the hull, was, perhaps, the only advantage of the ship, expressed in good parking stability. The aft seat and the forepeak are equipped with standard buoyancy blocks for those times.

Interior fittings

Domestic dyural boats MKM have a design, which provides for the placement of the forepeak and motor parts separately from the cockpit. Between them, they are separated by waterproof partitions. In the parking position, the power unit can be placed in the appropriate compartment and covered with a metal cover from above. Unsinkability provides a 168-liter fore and a voluminous sealed box under the stern.

The vessel is equipped with three transversely installed banks, windscreen glazing, rack slats made of wood. A pair of nasal benches is equipped with folding backs. In the bow, below the deck is a recess, which acts as a small trunk with a lid and a lock.

Boat MKM: specifications

This boat does not have special or outstanding performance. Below are the main parameters of the vessel:

  • Length / width / height to the maximum - 4100/1520/570 millimeters;
  • The index of the keel angle in the bottom part is two degrees;
  • Maximum power - 25 horsepower;
  • Weight boat MKM with rigging - 150 kilograms;
  • Load-carrying capacity - 0,4 tons;
  • Passenger capacity - 4 people;
  • The maximum speed with a load is 35 kilometers per hour.

The operation of the vessel under consideration is allowed at a wave height of not more than 250 millimeters, which substantially limits the places of its use. The optimal power unit is a motor with a power of 12 to 18 horsepower. Most users and experts agree that the size of the MKM boat combined with a low seaworthiness make its design extremely unsuccessful. However, for parking fishing and walking at short distances the vessel is quite suitable.

Upgrading and repair of boats MKM

The characteristics of the swimming device can be improved independently in several ways. To eliminate the excessive bending of the bottom, it is necessary to disengage the riveted seams fixing the bottom skin, the sides along the cheekbones, the stringers with the keel. Follow the procedure from the transom to the second frame of the stern.

The transverse lower edge, together with the bent element, is cut off by 8 millimeters, and the part of the partition of the motor block by 3 mm. By the same principle, the edges of the side plates interacting with the cheek are shortened. Stringers are flush with the new bottom plane, riveted into place part of the transom.

The kit is temporarily assembled to bolts, cladding sheets are pressed against it with the control of the bottoms. This is suitable for a 1.5-meter rake or a metal ruler. Over the entire area, at a distance of 1.5 meters from the transom, the measuring device should be as tightly connected to the skin as possible. Further, the zygomatic squares and the keel profile are adjusted. In this case riveted nests need to be expanded to a diameter of 4.2 mm, lay the sealing tape and fix the seams with new rivets.

The second way of tuning

The MKM boat, whose technical characteristics leave much to be desired, can be improved on its own, by installing a cross-sectional version. This element can be made from a duralumin or similar sheet metal with a thickness of one and a half millimeters. After preparing both parts of the part, it is necessary to give it a concave shape, tapping with a wooden hammer.

Nasal edge edina is processed in such a way that a close fit to the skin is ensured. Supporting and connecting strips are made of hardwood or textolite. Before final repair of MKM boats, the sheets should be primed and painted. Fasteners are taken in the form of screws made of stainless steel or galvanized iron. In addition, the fixing points can be strengthened with epoxy glue.

Helpful Tips

The MKM boat, which can hardly be called flattering, can be upgraded with additional transom plates with an adjustable angle of attack (in addition to the editorial version). By adjusting the angle, it will be possible to adjust the load between the plates and the editor. This will achieve the optimum trim depending on the load and climatic conditions.

A useful addition to the vessel in question will be zygomatic bumpers against splashes. They are attached on the sides two meters from the stem. To construct details it is possible from an alloy strip, mounted on the case by means of a dural gusset or parts cut from it. To better reflect the splashes, the surface of the bumpers should look down at an angle of 10 degrees.

Conclusion

The domestic dyural boat MKM, the technical characteristics of which practically do not differ from its predecessor under the name "Kazanka", did not find much popularity among the population. The only advantageous difference is the possibility of installing a more powerful outboard motor. The considered swimming device can be operated with motors like "Moscow" and "Veterok".

The main destination - amateur fishing and walking on quiet water bodies near the shore. Despite all the shortcomings of the boat, there are fans of this ship. By applying a little skill and effort, it is possible to modernize and improve its seaworthiness. In the standard version, the MKM does not have any special qualities that allow this ship to be preferred to other boats of a similar class.
