Vsevolod Emilievich was born on February 10, 1874 in the city of Penza. He played in amateur theaters. He studied at the Moscow University at the Faculty of Law, but left training and entered the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society in the class of Vladimir Ivanovich Nemirovich-Danchenko. Since 1898 he was an actor at the Moscow Art Theater, and in 1902 he headed a group of young actors who traveled the provinces. For 3 seasons of cooperation with this troupe. Meyerhold performed about a hundred roles and was the director of about two hundred performances. In 1905, Stanislavsky offered his cooperation in his Studio on Povarskaya in Moscow, where he prepared two productions.

In 1906, in his theater in St. Petersburg for the post of chief director of the Sun. V. Meyerhold was invited by V. Komissarzhevskaya. In one season, he released 13 performances on stage. But in 1907 V. Komissarzhevskaya invited him to leave the theater because of disagreements. In 1907-1917 Vsevolod Emilievich served in the Imperial Theaters in St. Petersburg. From 1920 to 1938 he directed his own theater. In the 30s of the 20th century, the baiting of the Sun began. Meyerhold, his art was declared hostile, his theater was closed. In July 1939 Vsevolod Emilevich was arrested, and in February 1940 he was shot.

Theater named Vs. Meyerhold

The Meyerhold Theater (Moscow) was founded in 1920. He existed for 18 years, and several times his name changed. The founder of the theater was Vsevolod Meyerhold. At that time he was in charge of the theater department of the People's Commissariat for Education. The very first name is "Theater of the RSFSR 1st". The main idea of the director was the creation of a spectacular and agitational theater, he sought to establish direct contact between artists and spectators. An interesting finding in the play "Zori" was that the Red Army took part in it. And in the "Mystery Buff" the scene merged with the auditorium, in which part of the action was transferred.

The Meyerhold Theater in 1921 became the base for the Higher Directing Workshops, where two faculties - acting and directing - were opened. Vsevolod Emilievich trained actors on his own system, which included "biomechanics." Sun. Meyerhold believed that actors should not play specific characters, they must show generalized images, not the psychology of the individual, but the self-consciousness of the class. One of the first students of Vsevolod Emilevich was Sergei Eisenstein. In September 1921 the theater was closed, but in 1922 it was opened with the name Theater of the actor.

In the summer of 1922 the workshops were sunny. Meyerhold merged with the State Institute of Music Drama, resulting in the formation of GITIS. Soon the Meyerhold Theater again changed its name, as a result of the next unification. Now his workshops have merged with the Experimental and Heroic Theater of B. Ferdinandov, and the GITIS Theater was born. But he was not destined to live a long life. In 1923 he was renamed the Meyerhold Theater. But the actors and directors, brought up by Vsevolod Emilievich, did not stay in his theater for long, because he was despotic. Performances in the theater Sun. Meyerhold was controversial, because often these were modernized classical plays, for which many accused him of outraging the classics. In the 30s of the 20th century Vsevolod Emilevich's performances were no longer liked by the party leadership, some of them were forbidden even at the rehearsal stage. As a result, in 1938 the Meyerhold Theater was closed. The closure was explained by the fact that it had an antisocial atmosphere and positions alien to the Soviet society.

"The Conditional Theater" by E. Meyerhold

The term Vs. Meyerhold "conventional theater" denotes a counterweight to the realistic theater. What is the reason for this definition? The fact that the theater is in itself, because everything that happens on the stage is not real events, it's a performance, and no matter how realistic it may look, but artists and spectators do not believe in what is happening for 100 percent. After all, Desdemona Othello does not really choke. But at the same time the viewer sympathizes with the characters. Conditionality is a sign of any theater.

CIM

Center named after Su. Meyerhold (CIM) was founded in 1991. To date, this is not only a theatrical stage, where various performances are shown, it is also the institution of the modern theater. With the name Meyerhold, the theater is not unrelated. Vsevolod Emilevich was a reformer and an experimenter. And the Meyerhold Theater Center has chosen its main direction just to find new creative solutions. All the performances that are on the stage of CIM, are original, they are modern and interesting.

The technical equipment of this site is also striking. The hall here is a real transformer, the stage can be raised and lowered, spectator seats are sorted out.

There is no permanent troupe, although many of its own premieres are being produced. Mostly there are shows of performances that are brought to Moscow from all over the world. Also there are troupes working without their own sites.

Among other things, the Master's School "The School of the Theatrical Leader" is opened in the CIM building, where the directors of Russia, CIS and Baltic countries raise their qualification.

Spectators who are interested in modern trends in art and appreciate a fresh look at the theater, are enthusiastic about all the productions that can be seen in CIM.

As for the productions, most of them view the audience as successful and interesting, original. The best indicator that the audience loves CIM is the fact that the hall is always full and tickets must be purchased in advance, otherwise you risk not getting into the performance.

Reviews about the Penza Theater

Those who have already enjoyed the productions of the House of Meyerhold, are advised to all those who have never been there, to visit this theater, and guests of the city - to include it in the plan of their cultural program. Spectators really like that the hall in the theater is small - only 50 people, and due to this the situation turns out to be warm and domestic.
