Meshchersky pond: we rest near the house

Many are looking forward to the onset of the warm season. Substitute your face to meet the soft and tender rays of the sun, admire the bright colors of flowering trees and flowers, eat juicy and sweet fruits - everyone dreams about it. However, behind all the delights of the summer season is painful for many minus - a stunning heat. Especially hard is the high temperature of the air being carried in large cities, where the roads, encased in asphalt armor, are heated several times more than gravel roads. For example, in Moscow. The huge skyscrapers and the absence of trees that give shade and coolness, provoke the inhabitants to seek salvation either in air-conditioned rooms or in nature. And if a small category of people get to spend warm months outside the city streets, then the bulk of the population can break out into the bosom of nature only on weekends. Therefore, the ideal option for Muscovites is to visit nearby recreation parks and nearby water bodies. One of such places is the Meshchersky ponds. How to get there and what is especially attractive in these places - the article answers data and some other questions.

Location of the pond

Many people are familiar with such a district of Moscow as Solntsevo. Of course, a certain glory of this territory was brought by the dashing 90s. However, at the moment, this corner is famous not only for guys in crimson jackets and sports suits, but also for their beauties. The latter category includes the Meshchersky pond. In Solntsevo there is the largest of six reservoirs bearing the same name. In the middle of the nineteenth century, the territory of one of the modern settlements near Moscow was the estate of Prince Meshchersky. It was during his life that the ponds began to exist. Without philosophizing slyly, the local population appropriated the name of the owner of the reservoirs. And it has since gone - Meshchersky pond. The prince died, the estate became the property of the Bolsheviks, and ordinary people now enjoy the beauty of the reservoirs.

Natural abundance: park and water

The large Meshchersky pond is the most huge (based on the name) in a series of six artificial storage facilities. In addition, he is the most beautiful of all. This pond is located in a picturesque place: just in front of the entrance to a huge park. The latter, like the pond, is called Meshchersky. It is worth noting that the public can enjoy not only the refreshing soft waters, but also the coolness that the numerous trees planted in the park give. On the one hand, the coastal line of the pond is encircled by flexible willows that bend their thin branches to the ground, on the other - bright emerald lawns interspersed with sandy embankments. Here and there with the naked eye you can see the paths that lead to cool waters. It is a great pleasure to take a walk along these paths, winding among the trees giving shade. It is noteworthy that originally the ponds were a river. It was called the Thunderhead, or, as it was later called, Natushenka. Gradually, the river was blocked, so it was divided into water. The Great Meshchersky Pond still exists. His younger "fellow" was not so lucky: several decades ago he was dismissed. The area of the existing reservoir is thirteen hectares.

Epiphany bathing and fishing

Meshchersky Pond attracts fans of outdoor recreation not only in summer, but also in winter. In the cold season numerous ice holes will allow fans of ice baths to enjoy extreme entertainment. It should be noted that baptismal bathing is organized almost on the territory of the reservoir almost every year. However, not only lovers plunge into warm or cold water attracts Meshchersky pond. Fishing also invites fans of this pastime to the banks of the reservoir. It should be noted that there are no huge catches here. However, for many fans to sit with a fishing rod the main thing is the process itself, not the result.

Lazy rest or active games?

You can take sunbathing on the territory of a specially equipped beach for these purposes. A gentle descent into the water provides trouble-free and safe bathing even for toddlers. Cabins for changing clothes, numerous benches and gazebos, a zone for children's games with slides and swings - all this is also located on the territory adjacent to the reservoir. Swim in the cool water, lie in the sun, play mobile games, read a book in the shade of trees or simply enjoy the beauty of nature - everyone can find a lesson here at their discretion. You can reach this pond by private transport, as well as by shuttle bus to the stop "Meshchersky Settlement" or by train to the Skolkovo Platform.
