These tender and elegant plants are very popular among gardeners and breeders. For today, an incredible variety of varieties of this variety of different shades and forms is derived.

One of the most popular varieties is Flamencentz, a rose, long and successfully grown in Russia. This variety with dazzling bright buds and a delicate aroma can be found not only in the southern regions of our country, but also in the central part of Russia. What is so popular with the variety Flamentament (rose), reviews about the properties of which are more than positive?

"Guest" from Europe. Her description

Flamentament - rose, bred in Germany in the mid 50-ies of the last century. Hence the most famous name of the variety - Flammentanz, translated from German meaning "fiery (or fiery) dance". With the onset of night, the green bushes of this climbing rose are covered with lush bright scarlet flowers, the plant really resembles a pillar of flame. Flower buds Flammentants are heavy, velvety, reaching 120 mm in diameter, have a subtle, delicate aroma. On one stem can be from 3 to 15 flowering roses. Under favorable conditions the shrub of this variety can reach a height of 4-5 meters.

What is the peculiarity of the species Flamencentz? The rose blooms only once a year, in May - June, but the flowering lasts a long time - more than a month.

In Russia, this variety has gained popularity due to such qualities as high winter hardiness, relative unpretentiousness and viability. Shrubs of this variety are able to survive the Russian frosts under insignificant shelter, and in the southern regions the plant does not need winter wrapping.

Another very useful quality of the Flamentanz-Rose variety has a high resistance to various plant diseases.

How and where to grow this flower

All without exception, climbing roses for good growth need a lot of sunlight. The place for planting a seedlings of the "Flammentz" variety should be sunny and well ventilated. Ideally suitable areas on the dais, the southern wall of buildings or fences.

Too much plot for the seedling will not be required. Strips of 50 cm in half a meter from other objects will be enough. In the ground, a rose is planted in the spring, when the earth warms up sufficiently well. Before planting in the hole it is required to make half a bucket of manure (humus), then abundantly watered. Seedling of the lance rose, pre-aged in the water, is planted in the ground, and after that the entire aboveground part can be shortened to 20 cm.

Care for flamenco flamenco roses

There are several simple recommendations for gardeners who have chosen Flamentz (rose) for the site decoration . How to care for this beautiful plant in order to achieve a lush flowering?

This flower is relatively unpretentious. It is necessary to remove the weeds in time and water once in six to seven days. Weak branches and faded heads must be cut with a sharp tool.

In the first year after the planting of roses, it is not necessary to make additional fertilizing. In the following years, not less than 4 or 5 fertilizing is recommended in the same period of vegetation. Peat-mineral-nitrogenous types of fertilizers are optimal for this variety. A good support will also be a special flower mixture for top dressing.

Pruning, wintering of climbing roses

Another feature of the cultivation of climbing beauties, including Flamencentz: a rose, whose care under Russian conditions suggests shelter for the cold season, also requires regular autumn and spring pruning of shoots.

In autumn, it is necessary to carry out thinning pruning of the rose bush, this will greatly facilitate shelter for the winter and help keep it healthy. Be sure to remove the shoots affected by the disease. To thin the plant, before the shelter for the winter, the old three-year shoots are also cut off. The remaining pruning is preferable to leave for spring.

After the pruning is over, care should be taken that the Flamentament bushes successfully "overwinter". It is very important to properly cover the plant for winter. The rose, frozen in the cold season or, on the contrary, propped up under cover, will not give such a magnificent blooming, which differs "fire" grade.

Before the onset of the first frosts, the prepared shoots must be connected without removing from the support, and the rose should be covered a little later, when a stable minus temperature from -5 to -7 degrees is established. If you hide the flower, without waiting for subzero temperature, it will provoke the rising of the rose. For the same reason, it is necessary to cover the rose bush solely in dry weather. This is done as follows:

  • The base of the bush is covered with a thick layer of mulch.
  • Shoots are removed from the support and allowed to stand a short time, so that the branches bend to the ground in a natural way.
  • Leaves should be cut carefully with a pruner without severing or touching the base of the kidneys, so as to exclude mold or other fungal influences on sheltered plants that may be on the surface of the leaf. But this action is not necessary, it is enough simply to treat the bush with a special disinfectant solution
  • Shoots and branches of a bush bend down to the ground not too low, in one direction. Under them, you can lay a layer of bark, planks or sloping grass. In this situation, the branches are fixed by means of an arc or several arcs of any material: wire, metal, plastic, etc. Arcs will provide inside the shelter a stream of air, which will prevent freezing or burring of the bush.
  • The plant completely, in two layers, is covered with non-woven garden material from polypropylene (Agril, Spunbond or any other covering material). As a rule, such a shelter is enough.
  • It is not recommended to cover additional cellophane film, this promotes the accumulation of condensate inside the shelter. If a very cold winter is expected, it is permissible to create an additional layer of lapnika on top of the covering material.

In spring, when the temperature is stable at the same elevation, the shelter can be removed. After this, additional sanitary pruning is carried out: last year shoots, which have not yet given flowers, are cut to the best developed kidney. Two-year-old shoots, which have already blossomed, partially removed, so as not to interfere with the growth of new shoots. The remaining should be left with an optimal length of up to 3 or 4 kidneys.
