Merchandiser is a modern profession

In our country, many new professions have emerged , which used to exist only in foreign countries and had absolutely nothing to do with us. Still some five or ten years ago, such professions as a merchandiser or supervisor, with their own names, caused a simple perplexity from a simple philistine. Who is this merchandiser? This is a salesperson who monitors the location of goods on the shelves in the trading floor, keeps statistics on the remnants of products, makes orders for the necessary quantity of goods in a particular outlet.

Most often, such a profession is associated with food or cosmetics, but only this type of product specialization merchandiser is not limited. He can deal with any industrial goods, such as clothing, furniture, household chemicals, electronic equipment and much more. Now it becomes clear what a merchandiser is.

If we consider this profession in our Russian reality, it can be noted that often the employer invests in this concept also the duties of the seller, commodity expert, consultant. In one word, a merchandiser is a universal profession in the Russian trading market.

Regulatory and organizational functions are performed by the job description of the merchandiser, which he must adhere to without fail. So, this document has the following general provisions:

2. Appoint and dismiss a merchandiser by order of the director of a trading company.

3. During the absence of a merchandiser in the workplace (sick leave, leave), he is replaced by a person appointed by the higher management. This employee performs all duties for him and bears full responsibility.

When applying for a position, candidates are presented with strict qualification requirements, which the future employee must possess. The future merchandiser is a person possessing such qualities as sociability, logical thinking, ability to communicate with people in a positive way, diligence and increased discipline.

In addition, the candidate must be single-minded and accurate in his work. Such traits will help the merchandiser subsequently take a step forward and become a supervisor who directly controls the work of the merchandiser group. The salary in this position is naturally much higher.

Moreover, the merchandiser is an honest person. Without this quality, it will be impossible to work in trade. There are a lot of temptations in the form of a variety of goods, which should not embarrass the employee and encourage him to commit an offense.

The appearance of a sales person must necessarily be accurate, since the merchandiser is the visiting card of its trading company.
