The drug "Nospalgin", the composition of which includes paracetamol, drotaverin and codeine, refers to analgesics that have anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activity. The medicine has a moderate antitussive effect. Paracetamol has antipyretic, analgesic effect. Drotaverin, being a derivative of isoquinoline, has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal, vascular, urogenital and biliary systems. Codeine exhibits an antitussive effect by acting through receptors that participate in the transmission of pain impulses to the central nervous system.

The drug is recommended for the elimination of moderate and weak intensity of soreness of different origin.

Contraindications

No medicine "Noshpalgin" is prescribed (application instruction warns about it) in case of insufficiency of cardiac, hepatic and renal systems of severe type, atrioventricular blockade of 2-3 st, hypersensitivity to components. Contraindications include drug addiction and alcoholism, bronchial asthma, conditions after head injuries, high intracranial pressure. It is not recommended for blood pathologies (agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia or leukopenia), respiratory failure, during pregnancy. Contraindicated medication with simultaneous reception with other paracetamol-containing drugs, MAO inhibitors, during lactation. Do not recommend the drug "Noshpalgin" instruction for children up to six years. Caution during therapy is observed with elderly patients, as well as with patients with Gilbert's syndrome.

Side effect

The drug can trigger allergic reactions (rash, burning or redness of the skin), due to the high sensitivity to the components. On the basis of admission, there may be a decrease in pressure, nausea, headaches, hemopoiesis disorders (thrombocytopenia or agranulocytosis). The drug "Noshpalgin" (instructions for use indicates this) can cause drowsiness, swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose, constipation, palpitations, bronchospasm. When taking the drug at elevated dosages or for an extended period, the risk of bleeding, toxic damage to the liver increases. In case of an overdose, there is a risk of irreversible necrosis in the liver cells with a probable lethal outcome. To early manifestations of this condition include vomiting, blanching of the skin, nausea, increased sweating.

The drug is administered orally. To eliminate headaches, 1-2 tablets are recommended, in some cases the medicine is drunk again after eight hours. Duration of application - no longer than three days. If necessary, in the continuation of therapy should consult a doctor. At a short-term course, the maximum dose per day is 6 tablets, for a long-term course - 4. To obtain the maximum effect, do not drink tablets with food. Dosage is prescribed by the specialist.
