The drug "Gino-Pevaril" is an antifungal drug, its international name is "Econazole" (Econazole). The active substance in this preparation is econazole.

The drug "Gino-Pevaril" is produced in the form of an aerosol, which is intended for external use, in the form of powder, solution and cream, also for use as an external agent and in the form of vaginal suppositories.

This drug has a wide range of effects, it has a bactericidal and fungicidal effect on the human body. After the application of the "Gino-Pevaril" means, inhibition of the synthesis of ergosterol occurs, which regulates the permeability of the microorganism cell walls. The drug actively counteracts dermatophytes, yeast and mold fungi, namely: Scopulariopsis brevicautus, Trichophyton rubrum, Cladosporium, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Aspergillus, Trichophyton tonsurans, Pityrosporum orbiculare, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum, Malassezia furfur, Microsporum audouini, Torulopsis, Rhodotorula, Candida albicans , Microsporum gypseum, as well as staphylococci, streptococci and Nocardia minutissima. Medication "Gino-Pevaril" actively acts on fungi, which have resistance to treatment with other medications. After this remedy is used, the death of fungi lasts for 3 days, with rapid recovery of the skin and their itching and burning.

Indications for use

The drug is prescribed for the treatment of dermatomycosis, including with hair damage, which are caused by yeasts, dermatophytes, mold fungi and are complicated by superinfection, and this is a colorful lichen, erythrasma. Also, the drug is used in the presence of skin infections, such as mycosis of the auditory canal, vulvovaginal mycoses, onychomycosis, colpitis, fungal balanitis.

Contraindication to the use of this drug is hypersensitivity to its components. Also, the drug "Gino-Pevaril" during pregnancy is not recommended to take in the first trimester (in the remaining periods it can be used) and carefully use this product during lactation.

Among the possible side effects that may occur after the use of this drug, it should be noted irritation, itching, dry and burning skin, hives, hypopigmentation, as well as flushing and atrophy of the skin.

The preparation "Gino-Pevaril" - the instruction on application

If drug dosage forms are used that are intended for external use, they are applied twice a day, with the aerosol sprayed from a distance of not less than 10 centimeters, and apply the cream in a thin layer and rub well. The duration of treatment is usually about two weeks, but if the drug is applied to the highly keratinized areas of the skin (foot), it can last up to a month and a half. When carrying out the treatment, for greater effect, after the application of the cream, an occlusive bandage should be applied.

If you need to apply candles or cream intravaginally, they must be injected deep into the vagina, for the cream you need to use a special applicator, it is done once a day. If the suppository is 50 mg, then the course of treatment is two weeks, and if on 150 mg, then 3 days. The course can be extended for another three days if necessary and repeated after 10 days. Before applying the cream to wet areas of the body they should be well dried. If the mycoses of the auditory canal are treated, then 2 drops of this solution are instilled into it, then the auditory canal is closed with the help of gauze turunda, additionally moistened in solution.

If the patient has eczema, first anti-ectopic therapy is performed before using the Gino-Pevaril preparation. Do not allow the product to get into the eyes. If treatment of vulvovaginal mycoses is performed, it is also necessary to undergo similar treatment for the sexual partner.

If after the indicated period of treatment with this drug you did not receive a positive effect, you should stop taking the drug "Gino-Pevaril" and consult a doctor to clarify the diagnosis.
