Management functions

The concept of "management" is pretty sure settled in the dictionary of modern man. However, not every educated person fully understands the functions of management and the main tasks that he is called upon to perform.

The main feature of management is that it is connected with different interests of people and interaction between them. Management as an activity is the accumulation of successful practices and experience in the management of an organization in which it constantly finds its development and improvement.

Therefore, the tasks and functions of management have acquired the greatest importance at all levels of management.

The management functions determine its purpose and role in the organization.

They can be understood as management activities on a targeted basis, tasks that are necessary for the solution, an independent basis for decision-making, and management.

The content of management is manifested in its general functions. They were formulated by the theoretician and practice of management Henri Faile. General management functions for Fayol consist of organization, planning, coordination, control and management.

From this series of general management functions, Fayol identifies planning as the most important function. He explains this by the fact that a dynamically developing market often generates the need for thorough forecasting of changes, in anticipation of threats and risks. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis, a successful manager creates a basis for further development, forms a development strategy and basic steps to achieve the result.

Immediate realization of all plans deals with the organizational function, which consists in the preparation of all necessary management structures.

As practice shows, management is no less important. Direct contacts between the boss and the subordinate and the establishment of an emotional connection allow us to study the personnel in detail and effectively develop personnel policy.

The lack of coherence among team members nullifies all attempts at effective management. In this case, coordination ensures the unification of participants, which facilitates the process of implementing the tasks set. A modern manager can use both traditional coordination actions: meetings, coordination of plans, the principle of compromise, and personal contacts.

The process of obtaining an effective result requires the ability to identify hidden dangers and impending threats. Management functions include the need for monitoring and regulation. They provide feedback from the control object to its subject. The collection and analysis of information allows you to analyze how much the result corresponds to the original goals.

The current stage of development of management makes it possible to introduce such social and psychological functions as motivation and delegation in the management functions of a general nature.

The transfer of a part of the authority and responsibility for performing tasks on one or several subordinates allows you to more effectively perform the assigned tasks.

Building an effective system of motivation with the help of financial and non-financial components for all categories of personnel is able to develop a desire for workers to work with high productivity, which has a positive effect on the company as a whole.

The tasks of management are becoming more complex as the market grows. Management should ensure a steady increase in the level of competitiveness of the enterprise and its profitability, the introduction of new management methods and methods, the achievements of scientific and technological progress, and effective personnel management.

The functions and tasks of management are its foundation, which ensures the effective operation of the enterprise.
