Within two hours of walking around the capital you can see all the most outstanding sights. The town was able to preserve the historical spirit and authenticity. This place is so amazing that it is often called "miniature Prague". Although the city is the largest in Slovenia, but in terms of its parameters it is quite small. This did not prevent him from concentrating on his territory a huge number of attractions.

For those who love theater

Ljubljana, whose attractions are liked even by people who do not like to consider architecture and various sculptures, first of all, recommends tourists to see the Slovene National Theater. The building of the opera was built throughout 1890-1892. The project of the construction was developed by architects from the Czech Republic Anton Khrubi and Jan Khraski. The building is designed in the Neo-Renaissance style.

The facade of the house is characterized by the presence of two niches, decorated with allegorical statues that portray the Comedy and the Tragedy of Gagnel's Aloyzia. Ljubljana (we will continue to consider the sights) can call this object the best one in the city. With its unforgettable bow the building of the national theater is due precisely to the luxuriously decorated facade. The majestic structure is supported by ionic columns. In the niches of the theater there are sculptures of Celebration and Poetry. Above these monuments stands a figure with a flashlight, which embodies genius.

The house of the architect and his brothers

Ljubljana, whose attractions can not but cause admiration, is known by the Jerzy Plečnik House. This house was bought by the brother of the famous architect Andrei. There was an event in 1915. And in 1921 the Plechnik returned to Ljubljana and decided to live in this estate with his two brothers and sister. In the courtyard of the estate the architect erected a cylindrical shaped wing. Later he created a veranda of glass here. Soon after that, Jerzy bought neighboring housing, and this was transferred to the possession of the Conservatory.

But the brothers did not live long together: one of them, Janesh, after a while moved. Then Plechnik remade the estate for his needs. Today, the Plechnik House is part of the exposition of the Ljubljana Architectural Museum. On the territory of the house a unique collection is collected, represented by unusual items that belonged to Mr. Jerzy. In this house Plechnik lived from 1921 to 1957. The main collection exhibits are displayed in the cylindrical wing.

The bridge of the XX century

In the northwestern part of the Vodnik square, the Dragons Bridge is built. Ljubljana (sights, photos are presented in our article) found this object in the last century, and today this monument is guarded by the authorities of the city. At first the bridge was named for the honor of Frans Joseph I. But very soon after the bridge was opened, its name was forgotten and the design was renamed into the Dragons Bridge. The name was due to the presence of four dragon stations, which are located at the corners of the sights.

The Dragons Bridge became the first bridge in Slovenia, which was covered with asphalt. In addition, this is the first design of a similar plan in Ljubljana, made of reinforced concrete. The creator of Ljubljana, according to the legends, is Jason. And the same legends say that he killed the dragon along with other Argonauts. Among the four statues of the object now is this dragon. And the locals say that the animal begins to wave its tail at the moment when an innocent girl passes over the bridge.
