In other words, very soon a tax on luxury cars will begin to operate in our country. Moreover, the deputies have repeatedly drafted laws on this matter, but they for a long time could not agree on how the normative legal act will be implemented in practice.

As a result, the Russian president had to accelerate the legislative process, and he succeeded. In the near future, car owners will juggle a new term, which is called "transport tax on luxury." All amendments to the bylaws have already been made and entered into force.

What factors will be considered when determining the amount of tax

How will the tax on luxury be calculated ? Machines falling under it will be determined on the basis of cost. Fiscal bodies will be interested only in those cars, the cost of which is at least three million rubles. This will take into account the year of manufacture of the vehicle.

Method of calculation

So, if the price of a car, whose age does not exceed twelve months, varies from 3 to 5 million rubles, then in this case the coefficient is 1.5.

In the case when the car passed one year from the date of manufacture, but the "iron horse" was not two years old, a coefficient of 1.3 is applied. If the machine is in the age range of two to three years, then you should take into account the coefficient of 1.1.

If the cost of a vehicle issued not earlier than sixty months ago is between 5 and 10 million rubles, then the coefficient 2 must be taken into account.

If the price of the "iron horse" is in the range of 10 to 15 million rubles, and since its manufacture was not more than 10 years, the tax is calculated by a factor of 3. A similar rate is proposed to provide for cars worth 15 to 20 million rubles. In this case, we are talking about those machines that have not turned 20 years old.

It should be noted that, although indirectly, the methodology for determining the amount of luxury tax has kept the car dependent on such a criterion as engine power (the transport tax rate calculated based on the number of horsepower is multiplied by the coefficient of "luxury").

As already emphasized, very many fans of fast driving want to see the list of cars falling under the luxury tax.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has already appropriated the status of "luxury" for almost two hundred vehicles. Among them were cars of the following brands: Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz. However, this is not a complete list of machines. The luxury tax will be introduced next year. At the same time, owners of expensive "iron horses" are happy that they have a little more time left.

However, a significant number of experts, having thoroughly studied and analyzed the list of cars falling under the luxury tax, came to the conclusion that the law being introduced is still far from perfect, and it will not be able to cope with its function badly. The main problem is that the amount of tax will vary from region to region. As a result, for example, it will not be unprofitable to drive in an expensive Lexus car in Kabardino-Balkaria, while it will be very, very expensive for traveling on it along the capital's metropolitan roads.

Before imposing a tax on luxury cars, the list of which can be viewed on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, officials should determine how they will calculate the value of "iron horses". If the starting price is taken as a basis, then hypothetically, dealers can reduce it by allocating certain functions to a separate line of expenses. For example, a car with all accessories cost 3 100 000 rubles. Now it can be purchased for 2 990 000 rubles, but the cost of wheel rims or rubber mats in this amount is not included, and they will need to be purchased separately.

Nevertheless, officials are optimistic, and they are fully confident that they will be able to track all the gray schemes for the sale of vehicles. They specifically developed a table of average prices.
