Limoncello: recipe for cooking Italian liqueur

Limoncello is a liqueur that is very popular in Italy (Sicily). In Russia this drink is not so famous yet. But it can be bought in a supermarket or made at home. It is easy to prepare limoncello, there is more than one recipe. For the production of lemon peel. So, let's start the process.

Limoncello drink: home prescription

We will need :

  • Vodka (700 ml);
  • Five lemons;
  • A can with a lid (liter);
  • Sugar (0.5 kg);
  • A bottle (with a volume of 1-1.5 liters);
  • Vegetable peelings;
  • Water (500 ml).

Technology of preparation

Wash lemons (preferably large ones). Carefully peel off the zest from them, without touching the white film. It is best to do this with a vegetable peeler. Put zedra in a jar and pour vodka. Close the lid and put for five days in the refrigerator or in a cool place. On the sixth day, strain the tincture.

Next, you need to make a syrup. To do this, pour water into the pot, pour out the sugar there. Heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely. Finished syrup to cool. After mixing it with lemon tincture. All is poured into the prepared bottle and put for three days in the refrigerator. Lemon liqueur is ready!

Recipe: limoncello on alcohol

Main Ingredients :

  • Champagne (200 ml);
  • Lemon liqueur (60 ml);
  • Sugar (3 tbsp.);
  • Mint leaves (30 g);
  • One lemon;
  • Medical alcohol (500 ml);
  • Water (650 ml);
  • Peel (from 10 lemons).

Technology of preparation

Place the zedra in a container and pour alcohol. The solution to insist for five days. After this time, drain the alcohol. Prepare the syrup (according to the previous recipe), then mix it with alcohol and put in the refrigerator. The solution is ready in five days. Mint, sugar, limoncello and lemon zest mixed in a blender. Pour the mixture into the bowl. Prepare a glass, along its edges, hold a slice of lemon and sugar. With the mixture pour ½ glasses, fill the rest with champagne (preferably chilled) or sparkling wine. But it's up to you.

Cocktails with limoncello

Recipe with raspberries

Main Ingredients :

  • One lemon;
  • Four leaves of basil;
  • Sugar (1/4 tsp);
  • Raspberry (8-9 berries);
  • Lemon vodka (30 ml);
  • ice.

Technology of preparation

Cut the lemon into four halves. We will use two quarters for one cocktail. Raspberry, basil and lemon in a bowl. Put the ice in a glass, pour the lemon and licorice, vodka and fill it with sugar. Mix everything. Ready cocktail with raspberries and limoncello.

Recipe with orange juice

Main Ingredients :

  • Limoncello (25 ml);
  • A circle of orange;
  • grenadine;
  • Orange juice (70 ml);
  • ice.

Technology of preparation

The ice is shredded and put in a glass. On top of it, pour the ready lemon and orange juice (best freshly squeezed), add a drop of grenadine. Decorate the cocktail with an orange circle.

Recipe with cream

Main Ingredients :

  • Cream (30 ml);
  • Limoncello (30 ml).

Technology of preparation

Prepare lemon liqueur or buy ready. Pour it into a glass, gently add cream on top (chilled). The cocktail is ready!

Limoncello should be stored in a cool place. It is necessary to exclude the rays of sunlight, since this drink can be spoiled. So, we made limoncello at home. The recipe, as you can see, is quite simple, but the cooking process itself is lengthy and takes several days. However, it's worth it. The drink turns out delicious!
