Fantasy universes do not just attract a lot of fans. They are unusual, interesting, cardinally different from the world's usual man in the street. They embody the man's dream of a miracle, magic and adventures, which are so lacking in everyday life. A fascinating world is inhabited by many diverse creatures, both good and bad. One of the most versatile creatures is Leach. Is it a magician, a necromancer, a sorcerer or something altogether dead and disgusting?

The general definition of a being

Lich is a necromancer who has become undead. Some sources say that he did this after he left the living world, in others he chose this path instead of death. The dark magicians have a ritual called "Eternal Night", according to which a necromancer exchanges the life of one or several people for a special artifact - a phylactery. The sorcerer's soul is placed in it, after which he dies to be reborn as a lich.

It is extremely difficult to destroy. The dark lich does not disappear completely, even if to destroy its physical shell, it can always return to life with the help of an artifact - a phylactery. A good example is the work of Rowling "Harry Potter", where the main villain was reborn with the help of the Horcruxes. In Russian folk tales, you can also find an example of a phylactery - this is the chest of Koshchei. It is in him that his death is concluded. Incidentally, Koschey the Immortal is in fact a vivid representative of the Lychees.

In translation from English, the lich is a corpse. Translation is more than accurate. The process of turning a magician into this creature is very similar to mummification, with a few differences. The skin and flesh of the necromancer dry up so much that it practically does not remain on the bones, and all the internal organs are completely absent. They are in phylactery, in some sources also called the lich vessel.

Lich in the universe "Heroes of Might and Magic"

One of the strongest units of the army faction Necropolis - lich. This fallen sorcerer, who made a deal with the god of death, he exchanged his soul for eternal life, thereby joining the ranks of the undead. Such lychees have retained the ability to read spells, as well as garments for them to recognize former sorcerers, though now they do not sit on them as well as they used to. The old cloth always falls from their body-dried bodies. During the battle, lychee is a serious threat to opponents, they hit several enemy units simultaneously, covering them with a poisonous cloud.

As a creature dead, the undead is devoid of any fighting spirit, the lich is always constant and equal to zero, has resistance to spells that control the mind. The presence of lichas in the detachment, like any other warriors of the Necropolis faction, reduces the overall mood by one.

Any fan of the games of the "Heroes of Might and Magic" series knows how convenient and good it is to get high-level shooters into the army. Lychees cause a lot of damage, unlike other shooters, they practically do not miss, and the force of impact does not depend on distance. However, when it comes to melee combat, the unit receives a penalty and the damage from its attacks is significantly lower. To make the battle as effective as possible, one must understand that it is impossible to allow enemy creatures to licham. Mighty arrows can not take advantage of their main advantage and, most likely, quickly die.

Lichy has in his arsenal a unique ability - a poisonous cloud. When they attack the enemy, from him in the radius of one cell the poison diverges, hitting a number of standing units. In other words, the impact of the creature affects nine cells at once. Damage from the cloud does not go through the undead, gargoyles, gears and golems.

The Lich King. "Warcraft"

One of the brightest characters in the universe. The Lich King leads the Scourge and mentally manages his huge undead army, seated on the Ice Throne. The demon lord created this creature from the soul of the once-respected shaman orcs, Ner'zhul. According to the plan of Kil'jaeden, the army of the dead had to exhaust Azeroth, thereby ensuring an easy victory for the Burning Legion.

When the shaman tried to leave the dying Draenor through the crevice that remained from the portal, the eredar instantly grabbed him. The minion of Sargeras tore the body of the orc into small pieces, but at the same time kept his soul intact. The old shaman prayed for the possibility of dying, but Kil'jaeden did not give him such an opportunity, he said that Ner'zhul is obligated to continue serving the interests of the Legion. He suggested to the orc the choice: unquestioningly obey or forever plunge into the abyss of terrible tortures. The shaman knew that the threat was not groundless, and he opted for the Legion.

The Lich King was locked up inside the Ice Throne, but at one point went against Kil'jaeden, conspiring with Prince Arthas, a man, merging with him into one. The war in Northrend ended in defeat for the creature, Tyrion and the warriors of Light, under his command, could put an end to his rule. After Arthas was killed and Frostmourne was destroyed, another person took the power of the Lich King, but this time for good purposes. He ascended the Frozen Throne in order to contain the scourge's terrifying power.

Creating an Undead Army

Addition to the game "Vov: Leach" version 3.3.5 gave the fans a full and fascinating chapter in the history of Azeroth. It began with the dispatch of the Lich King to the northern mainland, known as Northrend. It was here that Ner'zhul began to collect the Scourge, whose purpose was to weaken Azeroth, so that the army of the Burning Legion would not have any problems with the seizure of this world. The undead horde could not fail, unlike the orcs. The ice throne, in which the Lich King was seized, was additionally guarded by special soldiers carefully watching his actions. Arriving in a kind of dungeon, the former orcish shaman mastered the received power, gradually subordinating the inhabitants of the continent. From the Throne was released a plague, which turns every living thing into an undead. Mentally controlling the created creatures, Leach King took possession of a huge share of the continent. With each soul absorbed, his own power increased.

After the Scourge covered almost the entire continent, Ner'zhul received the order: to begin preparing Azeroth for the invasion of the Legion. Taking advantage of his power, he sent out calls around the world, planning to reach out to the hearts, somewhere deep inside rotting from the darkness. One of the most powerful magicians of the Kirin Torah came under the influence of the Lich King, he led a new Cult of the Damned, in which subsequently met mortals who worshiped Ner'zhul as a deity. The adepts studied the art of necromancy. Having created the appearance of execution of the order, the shaman began to search for an opportunity to free himself from the captivity of the Ice Throne.

The Fall of Lordaeron

With each chapter, only the history of the World of Warcraft universe becomes more interesting. Lich and the Cult of the Damned created by his subordinates could not remain inactive for long. They made the first move in the war, having found the plague and on the land of Lordaeron. Prince Arthas and Jaina Proudmoore joined forces to eliminate the threat. When the army of the undead began to terrorize the inhabitants of the kingdom, Terenas' only son, led the struggle against them. Each soldier was raised as a warrior on the side of the enemy. The prince was cornered. Trying to find a way to solve the problem, he gives the order to kill every inhabitant of the infected city, thereby not allowing the Scourge armies to increase in the future. Arthas's close companions noted that every action he committed killed him in him.

However, this is not the end of this chapter of the game "Wow". Lich thought out every detail of his insidious plan. Arthas tracked the source of the plague, coming to the correct conclusion about his whereabouts. On his way to Northrend, the prince meets the dwarf, who is his mentors. Wanting to protect his people, Arthas took possession of Frostwilder, an ancient and dangerous rune sword. Granting the master the power, he simultaneously deprives him of the soul. The prince killed his mentor, and then he reached Mal'Ganis, whom he considered responsible for the attacks. The most dangerous overseer for the orcish shaman was dead, and Arthas turned into a death knight, obeying the Lich King. The former prince became the head of a campaign against his native kingdom, during which he personally killed his father.

The war in plague lands

The Lich King (Warcraft) soon began to openly confront the forces of the Burning Legion, which brought the wrath of Kil'jaeden to himself. At the most dangerous moment for himself, he was deprived of power, while the servants of the eridar had almost reached the former orc, intending to punish treason. Having succumbed to panic, Ner'zhul summoned his best creation, Arthas, to the rescue. The loss of power of the Lich King affected the former prince, his own sorcery, in particular, control over the evil spirits, weakened, which caused civil war in Lordaeron. Half of the army, under the command of Sylvanas, escaped from the tyranny of the orcish shaman, realizing what monsters she turned into after death. Arthas responded to the call of the creator and left the Scourge, going to Northrend, to help the Lich King.

Intending to save his creator, the former prince of Lordaeron arrived in the northern lands, but was ambushed by blood elves and nags under Illidan. With the help of the Nerubians and Anub'arak, the king leading them, the death knight managed to escape from the encirclement of the detachment of the former elf. Hidden in the underground tunnels, Arthas hurried to the Frozen Throne, intending to protect him from the threat.

The Triumph of the Lich King

The plot of the game "WoW: Leach King" comes to its climax. Prince Arthas continued to go to his goal, but the elven prince Kael'thas stood in his way. He told the death knight that Jaina Proudmoore now feels very different feelings for him, and this news caused the former heir to the throne of Lordaeron to hesitate. Opponents collided. Kael'thas fought with a rune sword, forged from his father's weapon, but Frostmourne did not give slack, and the elven prince had to retreat. Arthas continued on his way to the Frozen Throne, in which his creator sat helplessly.

This time, Illidan was waiting for him at the finish. He did not disdain to resort to help new demonic forces, and this practically provided the former elf with a victory, but Arthas was able to catch the moment and turn the battle in his favor, seriously injuring his opponent. A death knight could finish off the enemy, but the place turned with his back and headed for the Ice Throne, ordering Illidan to leave Azeroth forever and forget about the existence of this world.

Arthas was able to penetrate the glacier. The first thing that caught his eye was a messy blue whirlwind, chained with magical chains to the top of the dungeon. The fallen prince took the first step, intending to climb the stairs, but in his mind the voices of native people, friends and a woman he had once loved sounded, all this the knight ignored. The only one to whom he listened was the dying Ner'zhul, asking for his release.

With a loud scream, Arthas hit Frostmourne with chains that held the Lich King, and they exploded with the dungeon. The helmet of the orcish shaman fell next to the fallen prince, and he waved it without hesitation. The next instant the soul of Ner'zhul and Arthas merged into one whole, thus the plan of the Lich King finally came to an end.

The death of Arthas

During the time that Arthas ruled the undead, he managed to bring a lot of trouble to the world, but the story of the game "WoW: Leach" ends with the death of a tyrant. Once surrounded, he crossed Frostmourne with Tyrion's Tinder, and this time the terrible tool broke. The souls, absorbed by it, broke free and attacked the Lich King. The ghost of his father helped to finish off Arthas. At the end of the battle, he leaned toward the dying heir to the throne of Lordaeron and closed his eyes to his son. On this the misfortunes that befell Azeroth did not end. Before disappearing, the ghost told Tirion that the Scourge, having lost the one who can command it, has become twice as dangerous. An uncontrolled army of undead could easily destroy this world. Tirion lifted Arthas's helmet and already wanted to take the place of the Lich King, but Bolvar Fordragon stopped a friend. He said that this world has long been alien to him, and he is ready to sacrifice himself. After hesitating, the commander-in-chief put the helmet on Bolvar, and he began to hold the crust of ice. The last thing he gave to the world is the news that the Lich King died, taking with him to the grave and him at the same time.

"Dark Avery Leach"

In one of the most famous games there is also a hero, called "Leach". "DotA 2" is interesting not only for matches, but also for character stories.

When Etrien was still alive, he did not think to become a Leach, the magician had the power he had achieved on his own. Spells created by him could chop large cities into ice, or embrace a whole power with a blizzard. But the sorcerer possessed not only great power, but also a crowd of envious persons who did not want to put up with his capabilities. A small group of magicians for a long time prepared a plan of attempt on the hero, they thought out every detail, and the idea worked. Amateurs could catch Etrian, disarm and chain him in enchanted chains. Satisfied with the accomplished deed, they threw the magician into the dark waters of the bottomless lake, to escape from the trap in such conditions the prisoner could not with all his might. Etriyan slowly fell down for a whole year, but the sorcerer's body caught on a rocky ledge in the wall where he continued to be. Dead, but miraculously not decaying.

Several years passed before the necromancer Anhil, who liked to engage in various kinds of research, wanted to know whether the bottomless lake was in fact deep in the truth. He organized an expedition. The first thing Anhil did was to lower the plumb line into the water. He hooked the body of Etriana. The necromancer was very glad to find it and hastened to lift it to the surface. Since the death of the great magician, many years have passed, and no one could warn Anhil about the dangers that lurk in the depths of the dark waters. The young necromancer removed the chains from the corpse and resurrected Etrien. Anhil understood his mistake too late, only when Leach opened his eyes and snapped his fingers, tearing the naive wizard into small pieces.

In the game, the character's abilities are also extremely useful. Acting in the role of support, the hero of support, he helps the allies, strengthening their armor, depriving the enemies of experience, eating creeps, slows down the opponent and brings into the fight a huge amount of damage, due to his ultimate.

In general, such a character as Leach, in any existing fantasy universe - a very curious creation. The mage who sacrificed his life for the sake of strengthening his power is truly interesting, he definitely instills terror into the hearts of his enemies, and deserves a high position in the created history.
