Is the columnar foundation suitable for the frame house?

Before the erection of any building you need to take care of choosing a suitable foundation for it. Given the number of possible options, it can be difficult to stop at something specific. However, the choice of this kind of foundation for the home largely depends on what specifically you are going to build. So, at erection it is possible to use a columnar foundation, for a frame house is an excellent option.

Today we will talk about all the advantages of this option. First of all, what kind of foundation is this? The easiest way to say that it is a stalled at an equal distance from each other columns, which must necessarily be located along the perimeter of both the external and internal support walls. Considering that the frame house design does not differ by a large mass, this kind of variant is just fine.

Plus this kind of foundation is that time and money for its construction goes very little. If compared with a common tape foundation, it takes much less concrete, and drilling of the wells takes less effort than digging trenches and their subsequent pouring with concrete.

If everything is done correctly, the columnar foundation for the frame house is distinguished by its rare strength. Unfortunately, he completely excludes the digging of the underground. But it can be erected even on unstable soils, without using a concrete pillow, and in case of construction on a hillside this option will be the only true solution.

Columns for it can be made of brick, concrete or even processed with special wood compounds. Of course, it's up to you, but the best option is concrete or reinforced concrete. This design is characterized by maximum strength, speed of erection and resistance to environmental influences. But how to properly mount it? First, prepare for construction. On the site where you plan to place the columnar foundation for the frame house, it is necessary to completely remove the top layer of the soil, having penetrated into the ground by about 20-30 cm.

After this, you need to mark the layout of the foundation. Then drill wells with a diameter of about 0.3 m and a depth of at least 1.75 m. Pour about 0.2 m of quality crushed stone into each well. On the detritus base we install a pipe with a diameter of at least 0.2 m, sealing the outer perimeter with clay. During this process, the pipes forming the columnar foundation for the frame house must be strictly vertical.

We pour concrete into the pipe and slightly lift it, so that the spilling mixture forms a solid base. After that, we again pour concrete, if necessary, raising the pipe to the height that the frame house design assumes. Label the height with a taut cord or laser pointer, since perfect accuracy is required. After that, you can pour concrete into the pipe, leaving a gap of about 15 cm near the top edge. The bay, insert the reinforcing bar into the concrete, then wait until the whole structure gets stronger.
