Being a circus, my father taught him various tricks as a child. A mentalist is who? From a small age, knowing the answer to this question, Patrick decided in this way to make a living. He claimed that he could read other people's thoughts and even talk with the dead.

But his life was destined to change. Once the paths of Patrick Jane and one maniac crossed. The latter, insulted by the arrogant remarks of a mentalist, decided to punish him - to kill his wife and daughter. And then Jane, unable to help her family, decides to offer her services to the local Bureau of Investigation. So begins the series.

And yet the question remains: "A mentalist is someone? The clairvoyant? The psychic?". Why is this term not known to most people? There are reasons for this. The fact is that mentalism is an ability, using only your mind and the skills of suggestion, to control the consciousness of people. And, of course, such a technique in skillful hands can be used for both good and evil. In life, you can often meet a mentalist, either among fraudsters or magicians.

Scammers, using these skills, like Jane in time, impersonate mediums or sorcerers. But in fact they just know the secrets of mental magic, and it helps them. But magicians usually do not hide the fact that they use it. But from this their tricks do not become less spectacular. The philistine can really seem that he is able to see the future. But hardly anyone is capable of this. And yet, a mentalist - who is this? One who can read people as an open book.

For example, one of the most famous tricks of mental magic is the following. The street magician offers a crowd of onlookers to tell a story on a given topic. And then he takes out of his pocket a sheet of paper with a printed story, which was just composed together by absolutely unfamiliar people. Naturally, this causes a shock among the uninitiated.
