"Hyundai Matrix" - compact outside, but large inside

Car enthusiasts who prefer to travel on kompaktvenah, probably heard more than once about such a car, as "Hyundai Matrix." However, do not confuse this minivan with the similarly-named Japanese hatchback Toyota Matrix. These cars have absolutely nothing to do with each other, although the management of the Japanese company had many claims to the Koreans, because Toyota appeared much earlier than Henday. But whatever disputes arise between them, still the level of comfort and reliability of this compact has always been and remains on top. "Hyundai Matrix": photo and design review

Initially, this model was oriented to the European market, and therefore Korean developers did not do experiments with the design, but simply turned to their Italian colleagues for help. In one of the designer studios Pininfarina Italians created a stylish enough and original exterior. As a result, the car turned out not at all ugly. Moreover, the atelier already had experience in creating designs for compact minivans. With its height of 163 centimeters and a length of 4.02 meters, the appearance of the novelty came out quite compact and was even similar to the exterior of the hatchback. But still with such dimensions "Hyundai Matrix" can be attributed only to the class of minivans. This compact effect was achieved due to the enlarged glass, as well as longitudinal faces and punching on the body. Also a big role is played by fifteen-inch wheels. However, in the exterior of the novelty there is a small drawback, which consists in the obsolete shape of the radiator grille. This design carries the car in the late 90's - early 2000's.

Interior

Despite the fact that the exterior of the minivan seems compact, inside it has quite a lot of free space. And the place has increased not due to optical deception, which consists in well-planned swings of different tones. "Hyundai Matrix" is trimmed with black upholstery, and the ceiling and racks are painted in gray. The stock of length and width is more than enough, and the height of the cabin ensures that even a basketball player can fit here. The huge windows and high landing provide the driver with a wonderful view, and thanks to the large rear-view mirrors, he can monitor all the processes occurring behind the minibus.

Specifications

The machine can be equipped with three engines to choose from. It can be a gasoline unit with a volume of 1598 cubic centimeters and a capacity of 103 horsepower. Or the injector motor in 122 "horses" and 1795 cubic centimeters. There is also a diesel unit. Its volume is equal to 1799 cubic centimeters, and the power is at the level of 82 horsepower. The engines are paired with mechanical and automatic transmissions.

"Hyundai Matrix": the price

At the moment, you can only buy a used minivan, as production was closed in 2010. In the secondary market, the price for Hyundai Matrix varies from 350 to 500 thousand rubles.
