How to write personal endings of verbs

What determines the spelling of unstressed verbs? Only on their belonging to the first or second conjugation.

It is not difficult to determine conjugation. There are only two of them. This can be done in different ways. If the verb has an end in a strong position (under stress), then the conjugation is easy to determine "by ear". We need only remember that the first refers to all the verbs that have the letter "y" or "yu" in the third person in the ending, and to the second - those that have the letters "a" or "I"

Example:

Sit - they sit, lie - they lie, stand - they stand, scream - they scream. This is the second conjugation.

Write - they write, draw - they draw. This is the first conjugation.

If the personal endings of the verbs do not fall under the stress, then you will have to follow the rule. I will not present it in the same way as in textbooks, but somewhat shorter.

• So, the second conjugation will include all those verbs that end up in the infinitive for "-it" (or "-yatsya"), and 11 exceptions, which will have to be learned by heart. I was taught this rhyme in elementary school:

Drive, hold, look and see,

To breathe, hear, hate,

And to offend, and endure, and depend, and twirl.

You will remember, friends: they can not be written in -e!

This conjugation does not include the words "shave" and "lay": they change in type 1 conjugation: shave-shave-shave. Stel - stele - stelut.

• If the personal endings of the verbs contain at the end any other vowel (except "and"), then they enter the category relating to the first conjugation.

Let's try to understand in practice.

Words are given: write, fly, draw, rock, sit, wear. Since the personal endings of the verbs stand in a strong position (under stress), then we put them in the plural. They write - 1 спр., Fly - 1 спр., Draw - 1 спр., Swing - 1спр., Sit - 2 спр., Wear - 2 спр.

Let's try to determine the conjugation of other verbs: draw, submit, paint, wear, cry, shave. At once we pay attention to a verb "to shave". This is an exception to the 2 conjugations, its endings will be similar to 1 conjugation: shave, shave, shave.

Impudent personal endings of the verbs "draw", "serve" and "cry" end in "-at" and, therefore, refer to the first conjugation. The verbs "to paint" and "to wear" end in "-it." They are not related to exceptions, therefore - the second conjugation.

In our language there are verbs, the endings of which can contain different vowels. They are considered to be multidisciplinary. From the name it can be concluded that the personal endings of the verbs of this kind will be different: part - as in the first conjugation, the other - as in the second.

Examples: want - want, want, want, but want, want.

Bezrezhit - shines, but szhrezhut.

Run - you run, but run.

Very interesting is the verb "torment". In Russian, it can refer to both the first (torment - torment - torture) and to the second conjugation: torment - torment - torment).

It is difficult to determine the conjugation of verbs with a prefix vy. To facilitate the task, this part of the word should be simply discarded.

Example. To sleep - to sleep (the end of the shock) - to sleep - 2 conjugations.

Sometimes verbs of imperative mood,
Standing in the second person, are similar in sound to those that stand in the indicative mood (for example, knock and hit). To correctly write or use personal endings of verbs in this case, first determine the inclination. The first verb stands in the imperative, the second in the indicative. In the imperative, the suffix -u- is written, and the ending of the verb in the indicative mood depends on the conjugation. Define it: knock - hit - uty - 1 conjugation.

As you can see, in the competent choice of the endings, the difficulties are few. You just need to learn the rule, use the algorithm. If you train, then very soon start to write competently, without hesitation.
