How to Properly Whiten Things

How to properly bleach things

"What can be simpler than whitening things?" - you will say, after seeing the title of the article. Of course, in our time of bright packages and loud promises it seems that you only need to choose the right remedy - and the end to your problems. However, often fashionable powders do not work - then the laundry remains gray, then the stains persistently do not want to disappear. And sometimes, having soaked the linen according to all the rules, you can even lose it - because the "sparing agent" turned out to be just an ordinary chlorine. Therefore, it's high time to equip yourself with school knowledge in chemistry and plunge into an unknown world in which "they are still boiling."

Sorting the laundry

Where to start washing? A popular tip is to simply separate the colored and white things. However, sorting by type of fabric is as important as it is - if you wash cotton and synthetics at the same time, you can get a wonderful set of gray things evenly covered with pellets. Often white things lose their presentable appearance not so much from frequent socks as from wrong washing.

Whitening delicate things

So, white things changed their color, and now you need to whiten. If these are delicate and delicate things from synthetics - your elegant blouse or elegant curtains, you need a gentle whitening regimen. The first rule is no chlorine! On a regular basin of water you will need ammonia (one tablespoon) and hydrogen peroxide (2 tablespoons). In the resulting solution it is necessary to soak things for half an hour.

Whitening of flax and cotton

If it is necessary to fix white things from cotton and flax, remember the famous "Belize", which the older generation values so highly, preferring it to more modern and dense analogues. Of course, an unpleasant odor during whitening is provided, but the main thing is the result! Make a solution of "Whiteness" in hot water and soak white things for a couple of minutes. Rinse the laundry thoroughly in cold water - it will protect white things from the destruction of fibers.

If this process seems too tiring to you, you can leave the laundry soaked in a solution of 5 tablespoons of turpentine after washing. This method is more sparing; White things soaked in turpentine can be safely left for the night.

Whiten with boiling

And now let's talk about what you probably remember from childhood - about boiling laundry. At once it is necessary to make a reservation that it is not necessary to put woolen or synthetic white things in a bucket of boiling water. Such a method of bleaching can only transfer cotton and linen items. You will need a large enamel bucket and a pack of soda ash. First, soak in the resulting solution of white things for a day or two. Then all this should be boiled for at least two hours. The result is guaranteed!

Having learned how to correctly erase things and return the whiteness to things in the ways described above, you will be among your acquaintances not only as a magnificent hostess, but also as a woman who can overcome any difficulties.
