Elevated eosinophils in the child: what does it say?

If a person has elevated levels of eosinophils, this can be due to a number of reasons. Among the most common are the following:

Elevated eosinophils in a child are observed mainly because babies are very fond of picking things off the floor or the ground and dragging them into the mouth. Manifestations

6. Weakened immunity.
7. Oncology. A tumor developing in the body, malignant or benign, can also provoke elevated eosinophils in a child.
8. Various infections.

It is clear that in each specific case, it is practically impossible to establish the cause of the problem. That is why it is so important to hand over all the tests in a timely manner. By the way, the opposite situation is widespread: the level of eosinophils in the blood may be too low. What does this mean?

Low level

In medicine, this phenomenon is designated by the term "eosinopenia". If, for example, the baby is elevated with eosinophils, the cause may be mass. If their level is lowered, the answer is only one: the patient has recently had a serious illness or is ill right now. The fact is that these leukocytes take an active part in protecting the body. If they were not enough, then they were involved in the destruction of the foreign protein, absorbing it and dissolving it with its enzymes. By the way, there is such a phenomenon as aneosinophilia. It is characterized by the total absence of eosinophils in the human blood and occurs with typhoid fever, sepsis.
