How to install xenon yourself?

Xenon has good light output when compared with conventional halogen headlights. This optics shines 2.5 times brighter than the standard. Well, the main reason for installing such lamps, of course, is the brightness of their glow. Many motorists ask themselves before buying such instruments: can xenon be installed by hand? How to install xenon yourself?

First we need to remove the old headlight from the fasteners. To do this, it is necessary to de-energize the system: remove the negative terminal from the battery and unscrew the bolt of the optics block. After we need to apply a long minus screwdriver to remove the two plastic clips. Now it remains for us to pull out the headlight from the installation socket.

Next, remove all wires to which it is connected. It is recommended to disconnect the large terminal with a small minus screwdriver. To do this, insert it into a small slot on the side of the wire and press down on the edge of the handle. It is worth noting that the terminal has a very fragile plastic latch, so follow it carefully.

Now remove the headlight cover. Most often it is fixed on 4 latches. Before installing the xenon, you need to remove the lamp. Categorically, you should not touch the headlight reflector with your fingers, as this will not have the best effect on the propagation of the light beam. Also, during installation of xenon, avoid contact with aggressive substances such as gasoline and alcohol.

Before installing the xenon, you need to think about the future placement of new lamps in the headlight. First you have to take care of the wires. Since there will be much more (further you need to plug in the ignition unit), you need to make an additional hole on the back of the optics. It is best to drill in the bottom of the case. So the wires will not rest against the plastic wall behind the headlight. In order not to damage the plastic, first use a thin drill, and then expand it with the nail file. Now you need to thread the wires through the hole, then insert a rubber seal into it.

Before installing the xenon, you still need to install the ignition unit. It is fixed under the body of the headlamp. Next, we connect the remaining 4 wires from which the standard lamp is fed. We connect all the terminals according to the polarity and put the xenon light on the place of the regular one.
