And no wonder - fragile elegant pupae easily get dirty or tear when playing actively. Washing such toys are not subject to special manufacturing technology, which includes tinting, aromatization and coating puppetry with acrylic paints.

In addition, textile handmade dolls are always decorated with many small details - buttons, flowers and other elegant things. Such a toy will be a wonderful gift to any girl or young woman and will serve as a decoration for the interior.

Many beginner needlewomen come up with the idea of creating a textile doll with their own hands. You should know that the huge variety of these toys comes down to several specific options, each of which requires its level of skills. Let's briefly consider the most popular of them.

Homemade dolls and their varieties

Kuklu-tildu invented the Norwegian designer. For sure everyone met this unusual creature with disproportionately long arms and legs, dots as an eye and a tiny head with rosy cheeks.

In the style of the doll-tilde, in addition, a variety of animals, as well as accessories, handbags and cosmetic bags. This doll - the best option for a beginner in the manufacture of toys. After all, its pattern is quite simple, and there are a lot of master classes.

Pumpkinheads

Another version of the doll is a pumpkin. Sew it more complicated. The main difference from the tilde is in the form of a head, which is assembled from five wedges and resembles a tiny pumpkin shape. Spout - sharp and neat - is the junction of all wedges and slightly protrudes forward.

The round face of the doll leaves room for the flight of the master's fantasy. All its features are drawn in thin lines, then painted with acrylic paints, sometimes amusing details are added in the form of hair strands or whole wigs, headdresses, freckles and so on. On the basis of such a pattern, it is possible to create a huge number of variants of textile author's dolls.

Other types

Doll-snowball can be distinguished by large, stable legs, whose foot is strengthened. Eyes can be either painted or in the form of dots. This toy firmly stands on the surface thanks to the dense packing of the legs.

Other textile handmade dolls can be made in a deliberately primitive style - with a touch of negligence and some old age. The effect is created, as if this doll lay for many years in a dusty attic. The name of the model is the attic doll.

Patterns of such toys have a simplified form, no need to process slices, a shabby appearance is achieved through toning with appropriate paints. The initial impression of negligent work is quickly lost upon closer examination, when it becomes clear that the design of the puppet appearance is thought out more than carefully.

Start with the head

The head of a textile doll is the most difficult part of the product. To make it, craftsmen are stocked with fabric or knitted fabric, wire, soft filler, and auxiliary materials such as needles, adhesive tapes, buttons, glue, eyelashes and, of course, paints. How to draw a doll's eyes is not the easiest question. This is quite a difficult job, requiring some skills, as well as a fair amount of accuracy and patience.

Patterns of the doll's head, like the whole product, can now be easily found in a variety of magazines, and on the Internet. In this article we will talk about the face of such a doll. And more precisely, how to make her eyes.

Drawing a mirror of the soul

How to draw expressive eyes of a textile doll? Often the contours of future features of the toy are marked with a pencil or disappearing marker. Then, with the help of special threads (you can take a transparent monofilament) and a large needle is drawn tightness features.

Correctly and successfully painted eyes are able to capture the characteristic mood of the toy. A lively look will give the doll a unique charm and make it unique. If you take things lightly, you can spoil the impression even from the most accurate crafts.

To beginners on a note

Before you paint the eyes of a textile doll with acrylic paints, it is worth getting acquainted with the rules for depicting painted characters of fairy tales (not only people, but also funny animals). Most of the beginners are starting to sketch this detail, experiencing some difficulties. They are frightened to undertake such a delicate work, they do not have the skills of such a drawing and are often afraid to spoil the results of previous work.

Therefore, it is necessary to learn some secrets of successful work. Before the beginning of the painting, both the face and the body of the doll are best primed with a mixture of water and PVA glue in equal proportions with the addition of acrylic paint of flesh color.

Other tips for beginners

On a separate sheet of paper it is worth to practice in the image of the puppet person. Such a draft will allow you to fill your hand and serve as a kind of cheat sheet in the course of the main work. If you spoil even a few sheets, it does not matter. But sharpen the skill, and the finished doll will not suffer.

For the sample, you can take a special magazine for needlewomen or for young moms with kids, there you can find a master class of dolls of any type with a lot of interesting photos of good quality.

Face try to additionally primetrovat PVC-glue, which you can almost not dilute, then dry well. After such a primer, the face looks porcelain and the paint falls on it just fine. Plastered with a glue brush, it is good to walk around the seams on the neck, which fix the head. After that, the doll's neck acquires additional strength.

When working, the excess paint from the brush should be removed, passing it over the paper, and the brush itself - rinsed. Dipping the tip of it in the paint should be very shallow, literally a millimeter or two.

How to draw doll eyes: small technological secrets

To the hand did not tremble and moved confidently, the elbow should be leaned on the table. If after washing the brush on paper there is still a small bluish trace, we use it to apply additional light shadows under the eyelid, nose, etc.

Paints are better to choose synthetic, they have increased elasticity in comparison with natural. Wash the instrument thoroughly, as acrylic dries very quickly and lumps form on the tips.

Before each set of paint should dry the brush, passing it on the paper. If you dip it in acrylic it is not dry, but damp, the colors turn out to be vague and faded. But if the brush does not slip at all, you still need to add water.

If flaws and excess lines are found, then the paint, while fresh, can easily be washed off with plain water using a cotton swab. When she had time to dry, you will have to use a nail polish remover.

Do you need eyes?

Mirror of the soul's eyes are called for nothing. This is immediately apparent even in relation to the dolls! Perhaps, the doll-tilde with its unique appearance can be left almost without a face, marking the eyes with dots. In other cases, you need to paint the doll's eyes with colors. Without this, the craft will not acquire a soul and its own unique personality.

The image of a textile doll is always slightly naive, cheerful and somewhat surprised. Her features - a snub nose, a mouth with a broad smile - are usually traced along the contour in advance. The artist's business then - just apply makeup.

Master class: dolls and their eyes

For painting the face of a doll, acrylic paints are often taken. Palette, in which the paint will be diluted, as well as different hardness and thickness of the brush, should be prepared in advance, as well as the above-mentioned sheet of white paper for test smears.

The face of the doll is primed with a slightly darker tone than the skin, with small light strokes. Uniformity is achieved by shading with a cotton swab. Then, on the stitched circles, indicating the eyes, a white paint is applied. A middle pencil of each eye is indicated with a sharp pencil.

From each center retreat upwards for a couple of millimeters, and again points are put. Around them are circles of large diameter. Then new points are selected 1-2 mm higher, with the center in them other circles are drawn smaller.

And then?

Try to make your eyes look the same. The larger of the circles are first painted in a light brown color. Without waiting for the paint to dry, we draw a dark brown line along the diameter of each large circle and smoothly shade towards the center. Near the small circle the color remains light brown.

This is the iris of the eye. It can be at the choice of the master and blue or green. When the brown paint is completely dry, the pupil (small inner circle) should be filled with black.

On each of the pupils with a thin brush put a pair of white spots - smaller and larger. And the eyes of our doll immediately get a lively shine! In the tone of the eyes, you can lightly tint the lips of the toy with a dry paint of a bright hue, and the skin with a mixture of instant coffee with ground cinnamon.

Let's start with the outlines

How to draw a puppet's eyes, if their contours are not indicated in advance? In this case, our master class will begin with the drawing of the features of the toy with a pencil. Do this should not be as horrible, but respecting certain proportions.

Imagine a person in the form of a circle, mentally divide it into 4 sectors of the same size. The horizontal axis passes through the points where the centers of each of the pupils will be located, as well as the inner corners of the puppet eyes.

Depending on the chosen plastic of the puppet person, the outer corners of his eyes can be lowered or raised above the line. In some cases, they may turn out to be asymmetric. For example, if our doll is melancholic, the corners should be lowered, and also slightly raise the eyebrows.

Master-class: continued

Having planned pupils, we draw light contours of pupal features. Proteins gently tinted with white paint. In the center of each of the peeps a bright blue or blue paint draw a couple of dots. Inside, after drying, place a neat black circle, positioning it so that it touches the upper eyelid.

Glare, as in the first case, we put in the form of a pair of white dots. Then on a blue or blue iris you need to shade a little dry white paint. And try to observe symmetry, so that the eyes of the doll are the same. Dry pastels are also used for applying shadows. At the edges of the proteins a blue tint is taken, and the contour of the eyelids is black.

At the final stage, cilia are drawn, and then the contours of the nose and lips of the doll. The blush on the cheeks is superimposed by a mild pastel or dry paint. You can add freckles.

Eyes like real

Some artists know how to draw a doll's eyes with a live effect, they look at the same not drawn, but at least glass. How can this be achieved?

It should be remembered that each eye represents a sphere placed in the head of a doll. The location of the shadows corresponds to the geometry of this sphere. The brightest of the points will be a highlight, surrounded by light, penumbra and shadow.

To start work, as in the previous case, we hold the central axis in the middle of the height of the face. An inexperienced artist can calculate that the eyes should be placed a little higher, closer to the hair. In fact, this impression is deceptive. Such an effect arises from the overload of the lower part of the face with small details (mouth, nose, chin).

Let's start a complex task

Inside the contour of each of the circles above and below denote the eyelids. The upper should slightly cover the pupil. If it is drawn in the middle of the eye and does not touch the eyelids, the look will be ugly and frightened.

Superciliary arches should be sunk. That is, the distance from the eye to the eyebrow is slightly darkened to give a look to the volume and depth.

Eyes are painted with light paint, but not quite white. This is done in order to highlight a bright white highlight on their background.

We continue to draw

Fill the iris with a blue or brown color. Pure colors are not recommended, it is better to mix them. Do not forget, as in previous cases, to change the depth of the tone, decreasing towards the pupil.

Then, under the eyelids, we denote shadows. Around the centers of the pupils, we put on a pair of white dots. The lower one is the highlight, the upper one is the reflection of it. Then we add the eyelids additionally, and the upper ones should be brighter and more clearly drawn, and the lower ones - lighter and lighter, with a slight darkening of the outer corners.

Finally, we tonify the eyelids together with the spout and sponges, visually attaching the volume. A wonderful effect will come if you paste real eyelashes on your doll.

How to draw the eyes of a doll-pump-head

What should I take for work? A set of tools is almost the same, consisting of acrylic paints, dry pastels, a simple pencil and, of course, thin brushes for painting. The blank for the head of the future toy must be pre-primed with PVC glue and acrylic paint.

According to the scheme described earlier, the pencil draws out the contours of the facial features. The area of each eye is painted with white acrylic. The operation is repeated two or three times, so that an increased density of the layer is achieved. Each of the layers must be thoroughly dried before applying the next, it is possible to remove moisture by a hairdryer.

Shutdown

Then the iris is drawn and the pupils are designated. The blue acrylic paint should be slightly diluted with water. Both the iris and the pupil are covered in whole. After drying, the pupils are designated by black color, white spots of glare are located on the very border of it and the iris. Then part of it (iris) should be highlighted. It is best to do this by slightly dissolving white acrylic in water and typing a small amount of it onto the tip of a thin brush.

After waiting for drying, we will circle each eye on the contour with a dark brown color, then carefully draw a line of the eyelids. Then you should draw a shadow that falls from the eyelids to the eyes. To do this, we collect on a tiny drop of paint two colors - black and blue. Mix them and lightly dilute with water. At the tip of a thin brush, place a slightly obtained mixture and carefully put under each of the eyelids.

On the space under the eyelids is placed a black eyeliner. Then, for the sake of expressiveness, the eyes should be shaded with dry pastels. It will most correctly be applied in small strokes, and then gently blend with a cotton bud.

So we did the most time-consuming part of the work. It remains a little - draw our toy eyelashes and eyebrows, color the mouth. Do not forget about blush, you can "throw" and freckles - the doll's face will immediately get a pretty fervent expression.
