How to deal with weeds in the country and defeat them

The war of a man with weeds never came to the end with the complete victory of the gardener. To this testimony - abundantly "flavored" comments on topics in the horticultural forums, advising how to deal with weeds in the country. If the gardener has not yet lost heart and is determined to fight the weeds to the finish, then he should take into account the rules of war and apply them wisely.

First of all, after reading all sorts of advice with recipes or having listened to benevolent advice from friends, acquaintances, neighbors, do not rush to immediately turn them into practical actions in your garden.

We can tell the weeds themselves about why weeds appeared on the dacha site. Each of their kind gives out a certain reason. Perhaps, the soil on the site has a poor mechanical composition, or it is too acidic, or it is excessively moist. In each case, measures are taken against the weeds that prevent their further rapid spread.

On your site, weeds can penetrate in three ways.

The first way is from the outside. Weeds grow freely on huge areas of "uncultured" territories, and their seeds can be carried by wind, animal hair and your clothes.

The second way is through manure. Even after passing through the gastrointestinal tract of livestock, the seeds of weeds are not only not destroyed, but also remain germinating. A kilogram of manure can contain up to 700,000 weed seeds on average. Many ways have been devised, how to get rid of weeds in manure, and none has yet been recognized as sufficiently effective.

The third way is your ill-considered actions. For example, if after weeding you throw the weeds in a trash can near your acres, then turn it into a hotbed of weeds. And then you will puzzle over how to deal with weeds in the country.

You can help the agrotechnical method, called the "clogging map". To make it up, you'll have to go around the whole site with its blueprint and note the places where the biological groups of weeds grow. There are three of them: juveniles, root-shooters and rhizomes. For each group, their own methodological recommendations have been worked out on how to deal with weeds at the dacha, but they must be applied seasonally and in a complex. Otherwise, pest plants will quickly regain lost ground.

In the spring, provocative tillage is carried out - surface loosening and compaction. After it, one- and two-year-old weeds quickly and simultaneously grow, which are destroyed by weeding. Against such weeds as wheatgrass and sow-plant, herbicide treatment is carried out.

Summer with weeds is a real war of attrition: they are constantly weeded and cut. Forced to constantly expend energy and time to recover, weedy grass weaken so much that it is no longer able to actively develop and grow.

In the autumn, before your site goes on wintering, the impact is applied to root and root shoots. Plowing of soil is carried out by a cutter, while weeds are cut into many parts that remain in the soil as fertilizers. If the site is too clogged, the use of herbicides helps. Covering the soil with covering material stops access to the surviving weeds of light and air; After some time, weeds die.

Seasonal struggle with them must be conducted for several years - if you really know how to deal with weeds in the country, and are not going to stop halfway. Then each year their ranks will thin out. Finally, when there are no pests at all on your site, it will be possible to be content with preventive measures.
