The first thing you need to go to the store and buy everything you need. We will need the following products for sushi:

  • Nori - pressed algae, in which the remaining ingredients will be wrapped.
  • Rice vinegar. If you can not buy, you can cook on your own: for this you need to mix sugar (2 tablespoons) and salt (1 tsp) with 1/3 cup ordinary vinegar (3%).
  • Fig. Which rice for sushi to choose? You can buy a special one, or you can use a regular "round" Krasnodar.
  • Soy sauce - as a side dish for sushi.
  • A mat is a bamboo mat that is designed to roll rolls.
  • Filling - except rice, in sushi we will put salted fish (salmon, trout), as well as cucumbers and soft Philadelphia cheese. Of course, you can choose other ingredients.

How to cook sushi at home: step by step instructions

  1. Let's start with rice. Only two of his glasses are enough for a small family. Pour the rice into the bowl and start to rinse well. Perhaps this will have to be done several times to achieve clear water. Then pour rice with water, let it brew well for 20 minutes.
  2. Spread it in a pan, pour two glasses of water (how much rice, so much water), cover with a lid, bring to a boil, and then cook on low heat until the water evaporates.
  3. Remove the rice from the fire, let it brew under the closed lid for a few minutes.
  4. We put the finished rice into a plastic or wooden bowl and pour in it a pour. Preparing it this way: take two tablespoons of rice vinegar, add as much sugar and a teaspoon of salt. Dissolve all the ingredients.
  5. It is worth noting that the dressing is added to the slightly cooled rice. We mix it very neatly with a wooden spoon, so that it does not stick together.
  6. Now we will roll the rolls. How to cook sushi so that they turn out beautiful and do not fall apart? A mat will come to the rescue. We put it on the table, it is possible to wrap it with food film for hygiene purposes.
  7. On the mat lay out the nori sheet as shown in the photo above. The smooth side of the nori is placed on the mat, its horizontal strips will be perpendicular to the bamboo sticks.
  8. We moisten our hands in water, take a handful of rice and lay it on the nori, leaving the centimeter from the edge of the leaf free.
  9. Lubricate nori wasabi and spread the filling at the edge of the leaf, which is closer to us, even layer from one side to the other.
  10. Now turn off the nori sheet by means of a mat. We twist, starting from ourselves, towards the free edge, pressing a little on the roll itself. We moisten the edge of the nori with water and make sure that one edge is superimposed on the other and is well entrenched.
