How to configure Outlook: tips for novice users

Despite the fact that today there are many email clients, to this day Microsoft Outlook is very popular. There are a lot of reasons, but most of the time users just get used to this program and are not interested in learning new applications. In some ways, they are right, since "Outluk" is a sufficiently reliable and functional program, which is acceptable to perform the tasks assigned to it. Therefore, today we will discuss how to configure Outlook

To begin with, you should adjust the client to your personal requirements. First of all, you need to make the toolbars permanently visible, for which you need to find the "Layout" in the "View" menu item. In the dialog box that opens, you will need to check the boxes on the required interface items and click on "OK". Using the "Viewport" item, the user can choose where to preview the message: from below or from the side. Since you usually need to configure Outlook for home users (administrators do it in companies), it is the interface configuration that is sometimes very important.

If you need to customize the toolbar, then again look for the "View" option, go to "Layout", where you need to find the important "Settings" item. In particular, here you can make Outlook display the signatures to the controls, which is especially important for novice and inexperienced users. Using the option "Additional buttons", you can easily add the buttons you need to the created toolbar. The order of the display is set by the icons with the arrows "Up" and "Down". As you can see, setting up Microsoft Outlook is quite logical and easy to do even for beginners.

And now we will discuss the direct creation of an account for receiving mail. Already at the first start, "Outluk" will ask you to create "accounting", requesting your name and surname. By the way, you do not need to write down your real data in the input field, so you can enter at least an arbitrary set of symbols. Next, as with any setup of mail programs, setting up Microsoft Outlook will require you to enter your e-mail address. Of course, in this case, it is not worthwhile to drive "left" information: on the contrary, we recommend that you double-check the correctness of the data you entered.

Then proceed to configure the server for incoming messages (pop). For example, consider a common case when a user has a mailbox on "Mail.ru": the line with the address will be of the form "pop.mail.ru". We hope that all users of the computer who need to know how to set up Outlook will not have problems with this. Having successfully managed, it is necessary to fill out information about the server of outgoing messages. Given the standard settings of the aforementioned provider, the line will look like this: "smtp.mail.ru". Once again, check the spelling of all the information you entered. Remember that even an extra letter or comma that could be wired into the address will lead to the impossibility of receiving messages.

All! You have completely prepared the mail client for receiving letters. In the last dialog box, correctly (!) Enter your personal password received from the e-mail provider, then click the "Next" button. After verifying the accuracy of the information you have entered, you will be able to write and send letters.

We hope that from our article you learned how to configure Outlook. Good luck in your correspondence!
