How to change the browser to an alternative software product

Any PC owner knows that you need a player to view video files and listen to audio. Work with office files is also possible only through an appropriate program (usually from the MS Office package). And to view the pages on the Internet is a special application - a browser. A vivid example, known to every user of the Windows operating system, is the famous Internet Explorer (IE). By the way, sometimes, instead of the incomprehensible term "browser" (English browser), a "web browser" is used, which is the same thing.

Beginners are often surprised to learn that there are a lot of web browsers, and periodically they appear newer and newer versions of them, and on the Internet pages you can often find recommendations on how to change the browser. We'll talk about this today, but first a little theory.

Surprisingly, the main browsers are just a few: Opera, IE, Firefox and Google Chrome. To display the pages, each of them uses its own "engine" (software core), which is constantly being improved. Other alternative browsers in most cases use this or that popular kernel. You can give an analogy to cars: there are many models of cars with any standard engine. The appearance and some details change, but the base remains the same. For example, such a product is the "Internet" from the service Mail.ru, which is based on the Google chrome engine. Similar applications are also in demand. Not surprisingly, sometimes I want to know how to change the browser.

Most users do the same: they start working with any one browser, getting used to its features (and they are there), installing and customizing additional panels and expansion modules, without thinking how to change the browser, which is understandable.

In fact, there are no ideal programs, there is always something missing. As a result, you have to ask on the forums how to change the browser. This may be necessary due to the compatibility problems found. For example, in the famous Joomla there are problems with clearing the cache of Chrome and Opera browsers, so webmasters often use Firefox. Conversely, some banking systems do not correctly display pages in Firefox, but Chrome does not have problems. The only solution is to change the browser. However, it is more rational not to abandon the use of a familiar web browser, and just in case install alternative software products. If necessary, you can open the necessary page in such "spare" programs. In the settings of your main browser, you should set it as the "default browser". This setting is always there! Very often it is enough just to launch a web browser, so that a dialogue appears about its main assignment. This will open all links to pages in it. However, sometimes you need to get an answer to the question of how to change the browser. Such a replacement is necessary if it is finally decided to stop the choice on any one browser.

Nothing complicated in this. The only thing is: you will have to transfer your saved passwords to a new program. Because of the differences in the device, it's impossible to directly transfer them, simply by copying the files. For each browser, special utilities are developed that allow you to view both the list of visited sites and saved passwords for automatic login. For example, Opera is "Opera pass View", for Firefox - "Password Fox", etc. With their help, you can easily transfer via "copy-paste" all the necessary paths to the sites and fill in the authorization forms. However, with a large number of necessary sites, the transfer work will take some time. That's why it is recommended not to completely abandon the usual browser in favor of the similar one, but to keep several such programs on the computer, supplementing one another.
