How to burn a DVD

The topic of the article is how to burn a DVD disc. Today, you do not need to be a genius in the forehead to record a DVD disc. It's quite simple. Information on how to burn a DVD disc will be interesting and useful for a wide range of readers.

Probably, there is no one among us who does not hear about DVD disks. How they look and why they are needed, they know everything - from babies to pensioners. However, it is not for everyone to burn a DVD. Is it really that hard? By no means. The presence of a computer, a floppy disk drive and special recording software allow any user to make a copy of his favorite film for home collection, burn photos and videos taken during the exotic journey to the disc, or arrange on the DVD all the concerts and collections of the favorite performer.

A bit about the DVD format. Probably not worth laying out here the mountains of technical information. It will be similar to the old school lecturer of the "Soviet spill", which for a long time and tiresomely tells about things that nobody needs and uninteresting. Let's leave technical details for techies-letterheads. Consider the question of interest to us easier, without excessive technical fanaticism.

There are two types of CDs: CD and DVD. They differ in the amount of information that can be written on them. Approximately 6.5 CDs (700 MB capacity) are stored on a standard DVD ( 4.7 GB capacity). As a rule, all modern computer drives "know how" to work with CD and DVD at the same time.

Any information can be written to a "dividible" disc, but most often the term "DVD disc" means a disc with video information. There are certain grounds for this: there is a universal video format, which is called: DVD-video. This is a universal format, which is equally well reproduced both on ordinary household DVD players, and on DVD drives used in computers and laptops.

Two points are emerging that need to be clearly divided:

  1. Record information on DVD media - DVD disc;
  2. Create, copy or burn DVDs to DVD.

That's all the wisdom. Now we will look at these two points in more detail, and after that the veil of secrecy will remain in the past.

How to burn a DVD with information.

To record information on DVD media we need a computer / laptop with a drive that burns DVDs, a "blank" - a recordable DVD +/- R disc, a recording program that works with DVD format (in our example it will be Nero).

Given: there are two files from the hard drive of the camcorder to 2GB. Each and a folder with pictures (200 MB). All this stuff is "resting" on the hard drive of the laptop. The task that you need to solve: write it all to a DVD CD.

  1. Open Nero Express - a program for burning DVDs;
  2. We select in the left window "Data", in the right window - "DVD with data";
  3. Open the folder with the files that need to be written, and "drag" them with the mouse into the open program window (you can use the "Add" and "Delete" buttons;
  4. We check in the program the type of medium to which we will record - DVD5;
  5. The "Next" button takes us to a page where you can select a recorder, "call" the disc and specify the number of copies to be recorded;
  6. We insert the "dummy" DVD + R / -R into the drive;
  7. Press the magic button "Record" and wait for the final chord. Everything, the mission is fulfilled - the information is recorded.

As you can see, recording on a DVD is within the power of everyone. Nothing complicated in this - everything is easy and simple.

How to burn a DVD disc with a movie in DVD format .

On the arena - all the same two files from the hard disk camcorder. The task: to create a film and record it in DVD format to a "blank" DVD + R / -R.

To record a movie, we will need Nero Vision, a program that will help me turn the "workpiece" into a finished product - a DVD movie. What are we doing:

  1. Open Nero Vision: we need to make a DVD-Video;
  2. We add video material to the program (we use "Add video files" or drag them with a mouse);
  3. Editing, cutting out the extra, adding music and making the disc menu;
  4. After previewing, we find ourselves on a page called "Record Options". If the "default" settings do not cause an internal protest - go ahead;
  5. We choose the recording option (we need a recorder) and press the magic "Record" button;
  6. In a few minutes we get a DVD with the finished movie in DVD format. It can be viewed on any device that receives DVD discs.

All. And we accomplished this mission. Now you can easily read a lecture on "how to burn a DVD disc" to anyone who inadvertently asks this question. Good luck!
