Burning discs with the built-in tools of the Windows 7 operating system

There are many software tools that are equipped with such a feature as recording discs. Traditional are Nero, Ashampoo Burning Studio, ImgBurn. But not all users know that in fact these programs are intended for other actions, for example, recording discs from an image, removing an image, and others. If you just need to throw the files onto a CD or DVD, but you do not want to bother with the jump and install additional software, then you will be able to record the Windows 7 discs, or rather its guide is an integrated universal tool that has the necessary functionality for basic operations with optical Carriers.

So, what do you need to do to "burn" an empty media?

Select all the files in the explorer that you want to record. Right-click on the selected files to bring up the context menu, select "Send" - "DVD-drive".

After the performed actions the system will create a special temporary folder where these files will be placed. In Windows 7, writing discs is much easier because the operating system does not need to search for files on the entire hard drive, and you do not need to collect all the necessary files and folders in one place.

After you have selected all the necessary files, insert a blank CD, DVD or Blu-ray into the burner tray of your computer, depending on the characteristics of which you can use some laser media. In Explorer, double-click on the DVD drive. At the top of the dialog, find the "Burn files to disk" button. Windows 7 offers a number of ways to write discs: use the future optical media as a flash drive or with a DVD player. Conveniently, that immediately describes the description of each method. If you are going to use the disk only with computers on which the Windows operating system is installed, then the first option will work for you, otherwise choose the second one. After clicking the "Next" button, you will see how the system formats the disk, that is, it completely clears and prepares it for the record, which takes a while.

After the recording process is over (this will be the LFS file system, in the case of a pre-selected recording as a flash drive), it's worth closing the disk session so that it normally opens on other computers. Microsoft provided this operation automatically when extracting electronic media from a DVD drive, but it would be much more reliable if you did this manually with a simple instruction:

  1. Click the left mouse button once on the device icon on which the discs were recorded.
  2. On the toolbar is the "Close Session" button, which you must click.
  3. Wait a bit.

It may happen that you forgot to perform the above procedure, in this case you should not be nervous. You can close the session on another computer before using it. Be sure to remember that to close the session you need about 20 MB of space on a recordable CD or DVD.

The Windows 7 Explorer does not give any advanced control over the information, however it is a standard tool that will allow you to quickly burn out the optical media without any problems. To burn discs with advanced parameters, use programs like Nero or ImgBurn.
