In Europe, very popular magazines that contain special patterns for making mock-up copies of a variety of techniques - from locomotives to space vehicles. Only in Poland, several publishers specialize in the production of this product, and the demand for it has been consistently high for several decades.

How to be modeling lovers in our country, where such literature is not so widely represented, but they really want to make a plane, a tank or a ship out of paper with their own hands?

There is an exit. The simplest solution is the possibility to purchase graphic materials with corresponding scans in a digitized form. It remains only to run the received document for printing and take up a scissors or a knife. But such an affordable way has its drawbacks. You can glue a paper from your own hands , but the quality of the surface painting may not be the best.

To ensure sufficient rigidity, the material must be dense, and on the paper, the laser print does not hold very well, especially the color printing. After all, the most complex form consists of relatively small elements subjected to bending. As for inkjet printers, images obtained with their help, are afraid of moisture, and therefore of water-based glues like PVA. But for the real enthusiast of bench modeling all this is not a hindrance. Our masters are not as spoiled as European lovers, they can make a paper from their own hands and then paint it in the way the original prototype requires. In the arsenal of craftsmen there are different methods, from impregnation with glue to a special primer. They are able to apply any camouflage, naturalistic imitate a slightly tarnished or polished dural, so that it looked like the skin of a real winged car.

Thus, the decoration of surfaces becomes a secondary matter, the main thing is the correct geometry of the fuselage and planes. It's really difficult to build an airplane from paper with your own hands. This requires considerable patience, the ability to work hard and perseverance in the comprehension of skill, that is, the character traits needed in any matter.

Without the use of flat scans voluminous parts can not do. The success of the whole thing depends on how accurately they are cut out. Experienced modelers recommend to use for this purpose not scissors, but a very sharp knife or razor blade. The indicator of high qualification of the one who collects paper from the hands of an airplane is the minimal application in the layout of additional materials, such as plastic or metal. But glues and varnishes are allowed almost any: in addition to PVA, usually used and molecular, and rubber, and many others.
