A segment type mower according to its arrangement is a more complicated option. But it can also be made by hand. A mowing machine of this type is assembled as follows:

1. You will need a metal profile with dimensions of 15 x 50 x 120 mm.
2. It makes 12 holes, the diameter of which will be suitable for the bolt M8.
3. Knives are fixed to the profile through prepared holes. For this, bolts of the size mentioned above are used. And the knives should be fixed on both sides.
4. Together with the extreme knives are attached skids and clamps.
5. Next, wheels are installed. Perfectly fit from an old baby stroller.

The mower works as follows. Knives are activated, thanks to a special mechanism, which transmits with the help of the shaft rotational movements from the motor block. Mower-cart

1. The frame is made by welding metal corners. To it fasten wheels (it is possible from a children's carriage). It is recommended to make a frame width of 40 cm and a length of 80 cm. But there may be other dimensions.
2. A sheet of metal or plywood is laid on it.
3. Next to the frame are mounted 2 drums, which rotate. They can be made from cans. To do this, cut the bottom and top of the can, then replace them with wooden circles. Another option for the drum is a disk made of steel sheet. A total of 4 cans with a diameter on the outside of 20 cm and 4 more cans with a diameter of 17 cm.
4. Connect two cans of different sizes to each other, using the bolts. Knives are attached to the disks (4 pcs per each). The distance between the knives should be the same. Between the knife and the disc, leave a gap of about 1-2 mm. This will facilitate the rotation process.
5. At the corners of the drums grooves measuring approximately 13 cm are made. A transport line will rotate through them.

Connecting the mower to machinery

The mowing machine assembled by own hands can work only after its connection to the technique (motoblock, minitractor). And you need to do this accurately and accurately. Even the slightest deviation from the level is dangerous, due to the high speed of rotation.

When connecting the homemade mower unit to the motor block, it is necessary to turn on the reverse mode. Coupling with the power take-off shaft is made by joining the knot of the mower and the hitch of the mower.
