Home leopard cat - the embodiment of grace and refinement

Today we want to tell you about a fairly rare, but very "fashionable" breed of cats. It's about a leopard cat (bengal).

This is a short-haired, artificially bred breed, obtained as a result of crossing the Asian wild leopard cat with a domestic cat. The first, outdated breed name is leopardetta. Today this breed is one of the most popular, and therefore one of the most expensive.

American Jane Sudzhen in 1961 bought a wild Asian cat in Taiwan, called it Malaysia and brought it to the US, where she grew up with a domestic cat of black color. In 1963, the cat's cat had a progeny - kitty Kinkin. Then it seemed like a miracle, and Jane decided to create a domestic cat breed that would look like a wild animal.

In 1983, the leopard cat (Bengal) was registered in TICA, and in 1985, Bengal cats were first introduced at the exhibition, where they made a real sensation among connoisseurs.

Today, this breed is widespread in the USA - there are about 9000 representatives, and in the nursery Jane Sudzhen (Mill) there are more than 60 individuals.

In our country, the domestic leopard cat is just beginning to gain popularity. But already there are several nurseries in which since 1997 Bengal cats are bred.

A leopard cat (bengal) is a fairly large animal. The adult cat weighs 5-6 kg, the cat - about 4 kg. The body of the animal is muscular, strong, flexible, slightly elongated in length. Cats are slimmer and slimmer than cats. Strong muscular legs, the hind legs considerably longer than the forelegs. Large and rounded paws. A massive head with a broad muzzle and expressive almond-shaped eyes. Short, shiny, thick and silky coat.

A leopard cat can have a different color: on a background of shades of brown, a distinct brown or black pattern, spotted or marbled on a golden background - these shades are recognized as the standard. Bengals have two types of patterns - spotted and marble.

Leopard cats are a breed that has very rare, original colors. For example, a force-link (snow leopard). On an almost white background, stains from reddish to black are in stark contrast. Most recently, the third color was officially adopted - blue (silver). Currently, the breed is considered fully formed.

The opinions of the owners of Bengal about his character are divided - some believe that this is a wild and uncontrollable cat, others are sure that she is as gentle and affectionate as a usual pet. The leopard cat is affectionate. Choosing a master, she will follow him on the heels, taking an active part in his household chores. Perfectly get along with other animals.

Bengals usually have good health, they are very neat, clean. A leopard cat is an active animal. For games, she needs a spacious room. They are great jumpers, very fond of water and swim with pleasure even in a usual bath. With pleasure walking along the street on a leash.
