The perestroika period in the USSR was held under the romantic accompaniment of music in the style of disco and youthful vocals by Yura Shatunov - the group "Tender May" became a real symbol of the era. Despite the fact that the main audience of the group were teenage girls, in fact, they listened to almost everything. In fact, it was a real boy-band - a musical collective consisting of boys. To surpass "Tender May" for explosive popularity it was not possible to anyone.

History of group appearance

The official date for the creation of the group is December 6, 1986. The head of the music circle at boarding school No. 2 in Orenburg, Sergei Kuznetsov, was excited by the idea of organizing a vocal and instrumental collective. In many respects the idea was based on bare enthusiasm and on boyish charisma of Yura Shatunov, to whom Kuznetsov had the role of a soloist. At that time Shatunov was only 13 years old. Mega-popular hit "White roses" appeared in the first year of the band's existence.

The "Laskovy May" group started at local cultural events, sang and played at discotheques, took part in concert concerts. Gradually, the press began talking about the collective, the touching and laudatory reports about the "nuggets" from the orphanage added to the audience's benevolence. Soon after, the administrator of the popular Mirage group, Andrei Razin, using his official position and outright fraudulent methods, moved the group to Moscow and resolutely embarked on the promotion.

The success was just deafening. The song "White roses" sounded in the popular musical program "Morning mail" - there was no way to get the listeners right. Soon the country was captured by a real mania.

Group "Tender May": the phenomenon of popularity

Suggestions about concerts and records fell on the young talents even more generously than from the cornucopia. Everything was in time to be impossible just physically, but at the same time we had to work on new compositions that would support the image of the "Tender May" group. Songs were still written by Kuznetsov, but soon conflicts with Ryazanov began. In 1989, Sergei Kuznetsov left the project, and this affected the quality of the texts not in the best way. His successor Vladimir Shurochkin wrote quite qualitative and appropriate songs in style, but he was inferior to the previous compositions.

Scandals around the group

Popularity automatically becomes an excellent source of huge money, and without scandals it was simply impossible to do. In addition, that inside the collective there were always serious quarrels and disagreements, the group "Tender May" was expected to be overgrown with clones. Andrei Razin already practiced touring teams, twins, who worked under the "plywood", when engaged in the team "Mirage". Now around the country, almost two dozens of "Affectionate Mayas" traveled, each of which was positioned as a real one.

Exposures and criticism fell on the group mixed with laudatory reviews, and on the fans can write a separate saga of universal love. Till now many women with nostalgia recollect the period of the insanity on group "Tender May". The songs were memorized by heart, they corresponded to tape cassettes. Recording studios received millions of profits on illegal copies - of course, about any license and speech did not go, although Razin actively discouraged any attempt at piracy.

In style, the music of the band can be reliably attributed to the European "disco" - an easily memorable dance melody, a clear rhythm, the use of synthesizers. As a sample of popularity, there remained the visiting card of Shatunov - the song "White roses". "Affectionate May" was easily discernible in almost every third composition of other groups, desperately trying to intercept part of the spectator "pie" of sympathy.

Basically, the team repeated European trends. This is noticeable - a mixture of teenage rebelliousness and romantic naivety had a powerful effect on the emotions of listeners. But here there was a purely Russian component. "Tender May" became a Soviet version of the famous franchise, which is known as the "American Dream" - boys from the orphanage become beautiful princes.

Return of "Tender May"

Musicians of the completely disintegrated group did not go anywhere - other groups were created, solo projects, but nobody could repeat the dizzying takeoff. But in 2009 the sudden news stirred up nostalgia - it became known about the return of the group "Tender May". Shatunov did not enter the squad, at that time he lived in Germany. Andrei Razin appeared on the stage as frontman, Andrey Kucherov, Sergey Serkov and Sergey Lenyuk also took part. The nostalgic return did not bring much triumph, but was generally well received: nostalgia for youth is a powerful emotion. Group "Affectionate May" and the vocal of young Shatunov are loved until now.
