In addition to greens, geese need vegetable protein food (peas, beans, cake), meat and bone and fish meal. Rye and vetch should not be given, from them the quality of fat deteriorates.

At first, goslings are very vulnerable, they need to be fed and watered. At night it is desirable to include dim illumination, the young will behave more calmly.

Gray geese live about 5 years, therefore the tribal herd should be formed only from individuals without physical defects. Otherwise, maintenance costs will exceed economic benefits. On 1 gander in the tribe should have 3-4 geese. The breeding herd can not be fattened as well as the individuals intended for piling. For successful breeding, their nutrition should be balanced.
