The Palomar site

The most common and fastest node is Palomar. For some people it is very easy to tie a hook to the main line with this particular knot. But this option is suitable only for hooks, which are provided with rings. This site is notable for its simplicity. So, let's look at how to do it. To learn how to hook the hooks with this knot, you need to fold the line twice, thread it into the eye of the hook, tie a knot from two lines, but do not tighten. Knock "Clinch"

How correctly to tie the hook to the line with the "Clinch" knot? This is another of the nodes belonging to a number of simple. It consists in multi-stage hook binding and is suitable only for hooks with rings. To do this, it is necessary to pass the end of the line through the eye, hold it with your fingers and make 5-6 turns near one of the ends. The line looks like a twist, where a loop is created near the eyelet, into which it is necessary to start the remaining end of the line and tighten. The tightening force must be directed towards the short end. The preferred type of line is monofilament, the binding strength is up to 75%. It is preferably used to tie a feeder to a thin or medium line.

Knots for universal hooks

There are also more complex types. Snood can already be used as a monofilament line, as well as a braid. This type of knot is used for both thin fishing line and medium type. They are also fastened as hooks with provided loops and blades. In tying it is necessary to take into account the type of line and remember that the thicker the line, the fewer turns need to be made. But also do not forget that if there are fewer than five turns, then the strength of the knot is sharply reduced. By this method of the node, you can also tie several hooks on the line one after the other. This is a very old method, but at the same time it is strong enough.

So how correctly to tie the hook to the line using the Snood method? First we determine which type of hook we will use. If it has a bent eye, we thread a fishing line into it. If the eyelet is straight or there is a scapula, it is not worth it to pass through. We make a loop along it from the blade to the bent part of the hook, as if making a loop above. Pushing the fishing line a little farther from the beginning of our loop, take your fingers by the shoulder blade and the line so that a loop is formed near the forearm. Then twist around the hook from 10 to 15 turns, depending on the thickness of the line. With your left hand, pull the hook by the fore-end, pull the right hand by the line coming from the side of the eyelet. And tighten the knot well.

Snood Sliding Method

Sometimes fishing is done using fishing rods with several hooks. But many do not know how to properly tie a second hook to the line. One such method is the Snood Sliding method, which is also used for fishing line types such as monofilament and braid. The strength of the node to break the line in this method does not affect. It allows you to tie a few extra hooks to the fishing line without using a leash. Take in the left hand the hook behind the eyelet and make a loop over it with an auxiliary fishing line. Make this loop a few turns around (from 8 to 10 depending on the thickness of the line). Apply the main line along the hook and make a few more turns. As a result, taking the right hand by the forearm, left pull on the additional fishing line and tighten the knot.
