Female sexual infections: what is the danger?

At present, the diseases of the genital organs are widespread, both in men and in women. Most of these diseases are of an infectious nature and can be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person by direct sexual contact. It is known that women are most susceptible to the development of sexual diseases. This is due primarily to the presence in the female body of certain hormones. Treatment with hormonal drugs, taking many types of contraceptive pills can well provoke the development of some dozing disease.

Very often, female sexual infections play a leading role in the onset and progression of many gynecological diseases. Pathogens that remain in the body after improper treatment are especially dangerous due to numerous complications. Thus, hidden sexual infections, the presence of which a woman may not suspect for several years, can cause the impossibility of conception and subsequent gestation of a healthy child, the development of some malignant tumors (uterine cancer).

Most sexually transmitted diseases are affected by people, regardless of their gender. For example, all known candidiasis (thrush) is conditionally considered a female disease, but it is also capable of infecting men with weakened immunity. Until recently, only three major sexually transmitted infections were known to medicine : gonorrhea, soft chancre and syphilis. Today this list has increased in tens times, to it were added: a trichomoniasis, a herpes, a clamidiosis, a ureaplasmosis, a gardnerellez, etc.

So, any sexually transmitted diseases are very dangerous for health and require qualified treatment. To suspect their presence is possible by the appearance of some signs. So, female sexual infections have characteristic symptoms.

  • Increasing urination, false urge to the toilet, soreness with urination.
  • Change in the consistency, odor and color of the vaginal discharge. Normally, vaginal discharge (leucorrhoea) is insignificant, has a white or transparent color, does not differ with a strong strong odor. Greenish, brownish leucorrhoea of loose consistency, with a sharp smell of fish - a clear sign of the presence of sexual infection.
  • Redness of the external genitalia, their itching and burning. Often the cause of this itching is an excessive amount of secretions, negatively affecting the delicate skin of the perineum. To get rid of an unpleasant symptom allows the use of special vaginal suppositories. Acceptance of the shower, frequent washing, on the contrary, promotes strengthening of unpleasant attributes.
  • Formation of small vesicles, ulcers and warts in the region of the anus and genitalia.
  • Uterine bleeding in the middle of the menstrual cycle, often accompanied by pains in the lower abdomen.
  • Appearance of purulent discharge from the vagina.

Depending on which infection caused the development of the disease, there can be a combination of several basic symptoms. For example, itching and burning in the area of the external genitalia are often combined with pains in the lower abdomen and the appearance of purulent or greenish discharge from the vagina.

Today female sexual infections are successfully treated by specialists. Treatment is preceded by a diagnosis, which usually involves taking a smear, performing a blood test, in some cases, an ultrasound of the pelvic organs. Further, depending on the results of the tests, certain drugs are prescribed. In no case is it recommended to treat female sexual infections by itself with the use of antibiotics or traditional medicine. Obvious positive results this will not bring, but precious time, which in this case is of great importance, will be irretrievably lost.
