Black dates on the calendar: Memorial Day of Victims of Terrorism

The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Terrorism is a black date in the calendar of any people, impregnated with its blood and tears. On this day it is customary to honor the memory of those who became victims of terrorist acts, those whose lives were forcibly taken away without any right to do so.

Each nation has its own day of memory of the deceased, and hence its own bitter history. And so that no one will forget about these tragedies, let us recall the most large-scale terrorist attacks. About those horrible and tragic events that for a long time will be answered with a heavy echo in the hearts of people.

What is terrorism?

But you need to tell the story from its beginning, from what has become the cause of everything - terrorism. Dictionaries reveal this concept as a way of imposing political ideas with the help of aggression. That is, terrorists by violence want to influence the decisions of the authorities, thus demonstrating their strength and determination.

Terrorism itself originated in ancient times, but only now it has reached its shocking scales. The reason for this is the huge choice of weapons capable of hitting at one point hundreds, and sometimes thousands of people. And the terrorists themselves have changed a lot, throwing away all the humane feelings. Now neither sex nor the age of the victims stops them.

September 11 - International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism

In September 2001, the world was shaken with horror because of the events that occurred in America. In the morning of September 11, the terrorists seized 4 "Boeing" along with their crew and passengers.

A few hours later, two of them struck the world famous twin towers, which were the largest shopping center in New York. The third was sent to the strategic center of America - the Pentagon. As for the last plane, thanks to the efforts of the passengers, he did not reach the target, but still it did not save them from the sad fate.

In general, almost 3 thousand people died on this day. The whole world sympathized with the Americans and despised the terrorists of Al-Qaeda. That is why the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism was celebrated on September 11 for a long time.

Fire and Tears - a terrorist attack in Europe

Europeans sympathized with America with all their heart, but soon their own tragedy made them cry from grief. On March 11, 2004, a series of powerful explosions occurred in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

This time the terrorists of the same Al-Qaida organization decided to use trains. They laid 13 bombs in the three largest railroad train of the capital, which are always crowded with passengers. Fortunately, only 4 devices exploded, which reduced the number of victims. And yet more than 200 people died right away, and approximately 700 were sent to the hospital with severe injuries and burns. In general, more than three thousand civilians were victims of this terrible atrocity.

And now March 11 in Europe is marked as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Terrorism.

Russian Day of Sorrow

Russia is a great country, on the territory of which people of different nationalities and religions live. It is not surprising that conflicts and disputes often arise within such a multinational state. But what is more sad, some see their solution only in aggression, and consequently, there are also victims of terrorist attacks.

The most unfortunate event occurred on September 1, 2004 in Beslan, which is located on the territory of the Ossetian Republic. On this day, the militants seized the local school students hostage. Peacefully, the conflict did not work out - as a result, 186 children were killed, as well as 148 adults.

In memory of the events of that day, September 3 was the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Terrorism in Russia. And now every year the prayers of millions of people cry out to the souls of the departed.

How not to become a victim of the terrorist attack?

In our time, it is impossible to completely shield ourselves from a possible terrorist attack, because nobody knows where the invisible enemy will hit next time. And although in every country there are special organizations that do everything possible to protect their residents from possible dangers - the risk of the terrorist attack, unfortunately, remains always.

But the country's security also depends on the residents themselves. So, every year on September 3 in all educational institutions of Russia conduct special lessons, the purpose of which is to explain to children what to do in the event of a terrorist act. They are told how to behave at the first sign of a threat and what to do if you still can not escape.

As for the adult population of the country, they should first of all be vigilant. Report all suspicious subjects, abandoned bags and inadvertently heard conversations. It will not only help save your life, but also protect others.
