Ebb for the basement of the basement. Installation of low tide

Ebb for foundation socle - a plastic or metal damp-proof bar, installed in the junction of the socle with the wall. Their purpose is to protect the foundation from atmospheric influences and rainfall, draining from the roof and upper floors, thereby preventing premature destruction and deformation.

What is the use of ebb for the basement of the foundation

Whichever material the house is erected, it still requires reliable protection against atmospheric influences, especially from moisture (rain and snow). And a very important element of protection is the ebb, which is able to extend the shelf life of the foundation and, accordingly, the entire room. Meltwater and rainwater through microcracks and pores penetrate the foundation and walls of the house, which can lead to the appearance of mold and dampness, loss of the thermal insulation properties of the walls and cause rapid wear and aging of the entire structure. Ebb for the foundation socle make it possible to keep it dry, creating conditions for their maximum safety and providing a comfortable microclimate in the house. But, in addition to the protective function, they also have aesthetic significance, since without this element the building would look incomplete, and the basement would be inaccurate. In their appearance, the outflows resemble an inclined shelf, along which the moisture flows down.

Materials for the production of tin

Today's construction market offers casting on the foundation, made of different sheet material: aluminum, copper, galvanized steel, including with a polymer coating, plastic, etc. Products created by the factory method are produced in a variety of colors, which allows a significant To improve the aesthetic appearance of the facade of the house. As a rule, outflows are chosen in the tone of the basement or wall cladding, however, it is possible to choose contrasting or metallic elements that will give the building a special charm.

Products can be purchased already in ready form with standard sizes, and made to order, which will be the most optimal option. In this case, the design of the building itself and its characteristics are taken into account.

The socle tails may be of a very wide width, depending on the size of the ledge and the width of the opening.

Preparatory work

Installation of tides, as a rule, does not cause any special difficulties, therefore, this work can be carried out independently if desired. To ensure that this does not take a lot of time, you must first determine the correct size of the depth and width of the surface.

Before you begin installing the ebb tide to the wall, you need to check its integrity. When detecting cracks, chips or voids, it is necessary to seal them with silicone sealant, putty or plaster. All other work is carried out only after the composition has dried completely.

Installation of casting is carried out after the lining of the basement, during the external decoration of the facade of the building. Prior to the beginning of the fastening with the level, the top line of the plinth or foundation is checked for horizontality. If there are large misalignments, they are leveled with a cement-sand mortar.

Installation work

  1. To ensure a better fit of the tides, it is recommended to make slopes. They are performed as follows: to one of the corners of the wall using a dowel and a screw fasten the lace, then level it and fix it to another corner of the wall. Prepare the cement mortar, using a trowel on the lace make a slope, which has an angle of at least 15 degrees. The solution is aged for several days to freeze the cement and evaporate excess moisture.
  2. Ebbs for the basement of the foundation can be attached to both the wall itself and to the pre-installed guide, to which the facade lining will subsequently be attached.
  3. To ensure a better drainage of water, ebb is set with a ledge over the edge of the cap at least 5 cm. The ebb is attached to the guide screws, and to the wall - dowels. The overlap of the slats one on top of the other should be at least 3 cm, and the joint should be best coated with a frost-resistant sealant. It would also be nice to seal the joints of the ebb and wall.
  4. External and internal corners are cut from the lengths of the strip and fixed in the same way, and joints are smeared with silicone sealant.
  5. Wide ebbs are attached to the socle using brackets, because otherwise they can, so to speak, "walk" from the gusts of the wind.

The whole process of installation takes about 1-3 days, depending on the amount of work.

Required tools and materials

Despite the fact that, at first glance, the ebbs on the foundation are set quite simply, nevertheless, you still have to purchase some set of tools. You will need:

  • Scissors for metal or hacksaw;
  • Kiynka or hammer;
  • screwdriver;
  • Pliers;
  • electric drill;
  • Perforator;
  • Dowels with screws;
  • Screwdriver.

The proper installation of the casting for the socle will provide excellent protection against moisture penetration and prolong the life of the foundation for a long time.
