People believe that they know exactly what cancer is. In this case, under this term, not one disease is hidden, but several, and they are largely different from each other. It is believed that the word "cancer" and the word "death" are synonymous, but many tumor diseases do not end with human death. Moreover, it has long been established that oncological formations (protooncogenes) are systematically formed in the body, but it successfully copes with them due to the existing immunity. So, what is cancer? This is a violation of the process of reproduction and renewal of cells. The organism, in principle, has a system aimed at preventing errors that occur at the cellular level. However, this mechanism may not work if there are some negative circumstances. If the cell with an erroneous program alone (or they are negligible), the body will destroy them. But if such cells grow uncontrollably, a tumor appears. While its cells only grow - the tumor is considered benign, and the scalpel can easily cope with this problem. But if the mutant cells penetrate into the organs and tissues located nearby, the body on itself will know what a cancer is.

The main danger of this disease is that "wrong" cells can "infect" their healthy neighbors with abnormal behavior - that is why cancer is treated with difficulty, using methods that are themselves dangerous to health. But there is nothing to be done about it: cancer is a disease, the stages of which are accompanied in most cases by severe pains, and without strong medicines a person can die from a painful shock. And mutating cells diligently resist destruction - hence the chemistry and irradiation.

The cause of the malfunction in the cells is primarily carcinogens. Some of them (phenol, components of tobacco smoke, asbestos) are mutagenic in themselves, others, in particular alcohol, act indirectly, accelerating the cell division.

Some viruses, for example, hepatitis, are also a possible cause of cancer.

In fact, all known and the most frightening factor is perceived by radiation. It's a little strange: there are not so many people who are facing radiation. Rather more frightening should be tobacco smoke - with it something 80% of mankind is facing.

But the little-known cause of the appearance of cancer is the food most used in a certain region. An example is Japan, where gastric cancer is more common . Or the USA, where intestinal cancer is more common . And when you change your permanent place of residence (that is, change the diet), new citizens change the risk of their country at the risk of a new homeland.

Well, the last reason for cancer diseases - genetics, hormonal disorders and problems with immunity (in particular, AIDS).
